Randomness is too big a factor

If you don't happen to roll enough for at least 2 star before krugs, you just can't win. 2 Stars are just too much of what matters, so if you aren't getting them, you can't compete. But you can't control this, it's determined by the RNG.

True,... but,... If it would not be RNG then everybody would be building the same comps at the same pace and where is the fun in that?

The game needs to be random, but unfortunately that means somethimes you just get delt a really bad hand. My main concern is the extreme punishment from RIOT for this. 1 bad game and all your LP is gone.

Update, last night I was playing a match and decided to try for a Lucian . Finally got a 2 star built at raptors.. Before that, I was trying to econ and stuff but anytime I would rr/go to a new round w/ a new champ pool to choose from, I wasn't seeing him appear at all.. Clicked through the other 7 people playing to see if a bunch of folks were building him thus the reason why I wasn't seeing him. I was literally the only person w/ him on my bench. There wasn't a single lucian anywhere.. Rng can just suck..

The mode needs more builds that can win.. Sadly, there are a few comps that are just op and everyone goes for them, thus the heavy rng factor. I get being able to adapt is a big part of the mode, but even then, you heavily rely on rng to stand a chance. So many games I don't see certain 2 cost units (though no one else is building them) which I feel is in a big part, too many champs w/ too few available per roll. Would be nice to have 2 more champs avail per roll. They should really implement this, especially as the game is around longer and more champs are added, chances of getting something are so flippin random. Honestly making the mode less fun. I can deal w/ no items and gold instead, but gold does no good when you re roll a ton and still don't get what you are looking for.

You are supposed to go with what you get. Thats the point of the game mode. the thing is you and 5/8 other people are tying to build the same thing. Some times you get stuck with really bad rng where you cant roll what very little bit of people have though

Too much depends on how many two stars you have. I just lost 2 placement matches because even out to crugs I couldn't get even 1 2 star champion due to bad rolls. The game is just too dependent on leveled up champions. The game would work better without leveling at all. Then it would be about your COMP and not your luck, because you would only have the champion choice and not the luck of getting the same champion over and over that would determine your victory. I'm not losing to my opponents, I am losing to the rng.

Are you rushing your builds? I don't spend any money on leveling or rerolls until I reach krugs. I get interest and sometimes lose streak gold and typically have over 40 to spend by the time I get there. That allows me to buy my level and roll at least two 2* pieces and have over 20 left over. Be patient and smart and know the rules of the game and how to exploit them.

It's also too hard for most of the game to see what positioning your opponent is using, so that too is mostly down to luck.

Work the RNG...

speaking for myself here:

tactic 1: roll heavy each round and be broke. if im lucky ill have enough 2 stars to get through krugs. its very random.

tactic 2: save gold, roll heavy the round before krugs... pick all the level 1 champs I can. really high chance Ill get a few 2 stars.

by using tactic 2, I increase my chances of having 2 star units by krugs... sometimes I'll even have a 3 star unit..
