Let's Draw Back the RNG

Team Fight Tactics has the beginnings of a fantastic strategy game. The problem, I think, is that too many aspects of the game mode are currently decided by pure chance. Starting pool? Pure chance Items? Pure chance Crit? Pure chance Most of the group bonuses are '% chance to X', and most of the items have a '% chance to X' passive. Lean away from the raw RNG and dice roll element and lean a bit harder into the strategy elements we already have in place.

In particular, perhaps introduce formation bonuses. More than just having X amount of Y class/race, have certain situation bonuses based on the positioning of chams in relation to each other. We already have some similar concepts here, Yasuo's Passive and Locket for example. Give the players more control over how fights turn out.

I can't tell you how many times I've just began to autolose late or mid game fights because the enemy team rolls back to back crit after crit and stat checks me despite the fact that I have higher star champs and more group bonuses.

You already get bonuses from formations, its called you dont get raped by assassins if you do your positioning right. Or at least it keeps Sej from freezing your whole army, or blitz from grabbing your best damager. I am not down with making cooky bonuses like that.

The other complaint I think there is something real there though, and I dont think its the RNG, I think it is that crit(expecially on assassins and Draven) is just too high damage. Now you can counter with a phantom (which is stupid that 1 item is 100% evade crit (should be like 80%), when really Crit damage just needs to be toned down. Crit pretty much overrides most comps, the only ones that don't are the sorc ones that just 1 shot your whole team even if you have the 87% MR reduction. 1 champ with crit items behind a slag of a team should not dominate a completely multi synergized team just because it is not crit based.

I don't think formations should give bonuses, that would kinda hard force you into specific formations rather than useing formations to controll targeting/agro

However, i fully agree on turning down the RNG, especially the infight RNG like Crit and glacial
