i'm new to tft boards, but surely everyone agrees that kindred and/or shadow need a nerf?

Shadow is very shit outside of Kindred and Dark Lux, the latter is extremely rare. Veigar benefits more from the Mage buff and requires specific items/3 star to carry the game, Malzahar falls off a cliff post mid-game, Sion is a tank cc bot, Senna is a support unit and Yi is not a very strong 5 star carry, he also benefits more from the BM/Mystic comp.

You can counter Kindred by having Trap's Claw or Dragon's Claw on your frontline and getting Summoner, Mystic or Poison on your team, she's not that OP unless 3 starred and with how broken 4 Rangers comp rn it's hard to secure a 3 star Kindred for the Shadow Inferno Comp because she's often contested by many players.

Kindred, regardless of what comp you have going will carry you into the late game. But youre not gonna get first place with Shadow, or a comp that revolves around Kindred. Itemizing a Kindred as your carry is good for like 3rd or 4th place. Generally.

She and Shadow in general, are more of a mid game comp.
