Collision Griefing

I have never seen anything like this before, let alone in a Platinum ranked game. I guess there is a first time for everything.

What happened: at the start of the game, in the first Carousel draft, I moved towards the champion I wanted to grab. I was running alongside the locked Carousel border, just ahead of that champ, waiting for it to unlock. Just like most players do. There was another player standing there. When I tried to go around him, he moved sideways to block me using the player collision. And he kept blocking all my attempts to go around him! Very skillfully too, have to give him that. I had to give up on my champ, go the other way and grab something else. And that player tried to follow me and grab it too.

I don't presume to understand the motivation of every underage jerk, but... what the actual fuck?! Why would somebody do this? That player obviously sacrificed his own chance to get a valuable champ just to prevent me from getting what I wanted. In a Platinum ranked game!!

I've never seen that player before. He hasn't said anything. I have nothing to report him for, technically. The only possible explanation I can think of is that I was the highest ranked player in that game, and he was trying to screw me because he thought that I was the biggest threat.

But this whole situation is bullshit. Why is there player collision in TFT in the first place? What purpose can it possibly serve, other than enabling a new way of griefing? DISABLE IT!!

This isn't new - like at all. That's why I think it should spawn you in center and disable collision when your shield drops. There's literally no reason for us to be able to interact with another player on the board outside of chat, it's not like we need to be able to target each other.

That dude is probably a savage with Rocket League mechanics.

The way you worded it makes it sound like he outplayed the hell out of you. LOL

I think the collision thing is fine, but once a player grabs a champion they should be pushed away from the carousel.

The other thing is, it often appears to the enemy player as you described. Actually, people just can't make up their minds, and have poor control over their pet.

Also, the movements and personalities written into the pets tends to re-inforce that they are reacting consciously, when they aren't. If it was a simple arrow, then you wouldn't take it personally.

Riot is laughing at you.

Shut, it was way worse when you could still do it once you had your item.. Now they only allow it before an item is grabbed. Really see it all the time though. I honestly think riot believes it is part of strategy as they allowed it to remain.. It actually is strategic if you think about it.. Not griefing at all really.. I've had plenty of folks try doing to me, grabbing stuff I was going for though it didn't seem to benefit them. One of the few "tactics" in the mode tbh.

If you suspect that this behaviour will occur (by second or third carousel), then you might fake out the troll by feinting for an item that you don't want. I think that this worked for me a couple times (but again, it could all be my imagination).

Thing is, you describe the event in initial carousel draft. Unless for spatula or recurve bow, so who cares?
