Why's Vel'koz disabled?

I played on the PBE, and when Vel'Koz uses his ult in the Poro gamemode the game would crash and disconnect everyone. Riot never payed attention to their community, so when they released it on here they had to disable him.

I won my one game played as him, but I win MOST games I play as him.

Still, it's worded similarly to the OP champion bans in urf mode and ascension, for example. Maybe the Poro King +mana buff made him too spammy and effective?

If they were banning champs due to being "OP" then they would ban a LOT like Master Yi, Amumu, Blitz, Nidalee, Soraka, Tarik, and a LOT more.

Well he had a bug in poro king mode if you died as your ult goes off the ult stops working for the rest of the match.

that happened in any mode because i had it happen to me on Summoner's Rift.

I played as battlecast Vel'Koz and the other team said they couldn't see any of my abilities being cast. I could see it and so could my own team so I assumed the other team was just BSing. Not 10 minutes later he was disabled so maybe that's why.
