Game mode idea: Sealed Deck Shop

What is Sealed Deck Shop?

That's simple, when every game starts about half the items will be randomly disable in the shops (same items for both teams). The idea of it is simple: to force players to adapt their builds when the best items aren't available or a component item is missing but the final item is still there. Example: you want to build Zhonya's which is available but rod is missing. Do you save up all that money you are going to need or do you build something which has components available?

This would probably work best in ARAM given the nature of that map, but would be a good experimentation place for SR since your item selection changes from game to game.

When you titled this "sealed deck" I wasn't thinking items.

If your team had a random sampling of champs to choose from and you had to build a team out of just them, that would qualify as sealed and it would be ...interesting. especially because your opposing team wouldn't have the same group of champs to choose from.

actually you could go a step further and make it where each player has 3 champs they have to choose from, at random, out of the 122 champs total. then you have to ask which of those three you could do to help out the team.

so the conversation would be like: "I can go morgana or try to make master yi work, don't think I can make udyr work, never played him before, don't own him." someone else would be like "I have sona, I'll pick her, you go with something else." someone else would say "I got nidalee, yorick, and elise. no idea where to go with this." and the team would have to cobble together something resembling a strategy with the limited timeframe.

It wouldn't be a bad idea, we already have draft play.

well, you're not supposed to be able to control your champs, but you can, and many do. But I see your point.

It's a neat twist.
