Riot, I don't know what you need to do, but fix Ranked.

I love the idea of Ranked.

You see, I came from the game called World of Warcraft and Tera. I still play them but League a lot more. I used to be on a hardcore raid team in WoW which we did Mythic raiding and such (which is PVE, we do bosses and raids and strategize heavily to defeat challenges). I loved to make goals and try to get better and be higher in my item level and such. Nothing makes you feel more amazing than finally killing that one rare boss that is one of the most hardest bosses ever. (looking at you Garrosh.)

Why am I saying this? Because it's so easy to get into it, but hard to get GOOD at it. You join a guild, grow a bond with you guildmates, and slowly do raid progression to level up your character's gear and your pals gear.

In LoL ranked, if I want to get better, I have to deal with the most TOXIC SHIT. I got in Bronze 1 S4, and was estatic to build ELO. I played a few practices before I went in, and kept getting jerks, or trolls, or people that thought they were Doublelift. I admit some games we were just outmatched, but luck should not be a factor in skill, period.

I know enemy teams get that too, but that makes it WORSE. The game turns from strategy and teamwork to whose team is trolling more. Oh, your team isn't feeding just as bad? Pretty much won. Feeding a little more? Might as well surrender.

BUT WAIT, SURRENDERING LOSES MORE LP.

Seriously Riot? I know in higher ELO I heard it isn't as bad, but I shouldn't have to want to shoot myself just to play 2 games of Ranked. I truly want to get better, but how can I learn and climb ELO when I want to kill myself so much more for subjecting myself to the 5 year olds.

Just for emphasis, here's an example of a jerk in Solo/Duoq:

Contrary to the belief of some of the community, you actually do not lose more LP from surrendering

It is, and it isn't. In the short term, yeah, teammates have a major impact on how you do. In the long term, your personal ability becomes the predominant factor in your ranking. While you can't directly do anything about your teammates, you can do what you can to rally your team to victory, whether by positively encouraging them, setting up plays for them, or just outright carrying them yourself.

As a side note, if you don't want to go through solo queue, you could always try getting a bunch of friends together for ranked teams. In terms of your MMO analogy, ranked teams would be guild runs while solo queue would be pugs. Yes, ranked teams are harder to start up than solo queue, but you get that sense of camaraderie and growth.
