Now that URF is gone I'm struggling to continue to play LoL, what modes do you reccomend?

I've been playing LoL since season 2, and needless to say it's gotten a bit boring. Especially with another major competitor in the genre being out now. Thus, I've been struggling these past several months to keep playing LoL. I was brought back with URF but now that it's over I just can't seem to find something that's fun and also doesn't include a ton of toxicity. I've played on the regular summoners rift map with the typical rules a thousand times so I'm pretty bored of that, so I figured I'd try ARAM again.

I used to play ARAM a lot, but I own a lot of Melee champs and as we all know they tend to do extremely sub-par on that map. Well today I tried playing again and I got Blitzcrank! Great, someone good, right? Well it probably would've been fun if the guy who drew Twitch on my team would've stopped pestering and begging me to switch him because, he "manes Blitzcrank". I mean, really, if you're going to beg to me over and over again at least spell it correctly. Twitch re-rolled and got Garen... then proceeded to beg me again to switch with him. I was going to mute him when the match began but, lo and behold, somebody quit and we went back to menu. I lost interest, maybe I'll play again when the ARAM changes go through next patch.

I've also heard of something called "Dominion" but I hear it's full of bots. Seriously though, I've played before and every game had 3-4 bots in it. Has it improved?

Dominion does have a bot problem, but if you play enough to raise your hidden mmr, they'll start to disappear. I haven't seen any bots in many games since getting back into dominion.

I dunno I've only been playing for a year and after playing URF, regular games just don't make me as excited anymore. Maybe this game just got boring as most games eventually do, it's not a bad thing to quit and find something new. Even if you bought RP, you shouldn't feel a need to stay loyal to Riot, they have plenty of paying customers. As for the best game modes, SR is still my favorite. I played ARAM for awhile, got really boring because I am a chatty guy and it's pretty full of bots(who don't talk qq). I never enjoyed Twisted Treeline, it consisted of less teamwork(in MY OPINION, some may disagree). As for Dominion, never tried it, will most likely never try it(I've just heard too many bad things about it).

Now that URF is gone I don't feel like playing at all now. I agree with most. Other games are slow and less intense...

i used to play LoL on all game modes all maps,

[Twisted Treeline] - has gotten better but it requires map awareness, however some champs can carry the game. zyra plant warding is really strong [Summoners Rift] - love the changes but its STILL JUST SLOW. summoner 3 [Dominion] - is alot of fun, games arnt as long, you start with more gold all 3 ability's, not so focused on killing minions as it is team fighting & objective control but bots are in that game mode & sadly are better then most human players however its easy to bug them out and make them derp out so you can kill them

i hate to even recommend trying a new game, no one likes to change to a new MMO, MOBA, because they have made so much progression with so much time invested, i know im like that with world of Warcraft and thats why i dont play any other MMO too much time invested into it

smite - give it a try if you haven't i dont play it personally anymore but it requires more skill load times & game play are faster, and it has more game modes then you can shake a fist at,

idk if your a blizzard fan but Heros of the storm is still in alpha, not sure if you could get in but i did its alright, i dont like the fact you dont buy items or it requires ALOT of objective control but if you could it would become 2x more in depth then any other current moba & would make builds and game play much more interesting

i am also struggling to play LoL this is my story & how i feel

everything is slow, i can count my enemy's cooldowns in my head without a problem, know when and when not to engage, wards and watching my enemy movements only prove a gank is inc

i have quit LoL 2 years ago because i didnt find it fun anymore, when i heard about URF 2014 i decided to play it again. it was the most fun ive ever had playing any kind of moba. when they removed it i played for a week or 2 then quit. it wasnt fun anymore... i was depressed for awhile thinkn id never ever see that kind of fun anywhere in a game. then this year came around, a friend linked me something about "NURF" i was a joke as soon as as i read it. it just made sense that that was the april fools joke and URF would really be 2015. i downloaded the client made sure all my patch's were done. and played 2 games before urf dropped...i could not even explain how anxious i was for it to drop

i had so much fun this year i played every chance i got for as long as i could because i knew it will be another year before i can enjoy this game

the only thing i can compare this too is the fighting game marvel vs capcom 2, [Normal- normal speed playing] - you play this for so long it becomes no challenge you have just become so fast at reacting
[Turbo- increase speed playing] - you move to this mode & its a whole new game on a whole new level, it changes how you should combo how you approach situations

Yes, Dominion is very fun. Personally, I haven't had any trouble with bots but I as well have heard they're around. I'd give it a shot if I were you

Heroes of the Storm. Seriously, HotS is what League used to be. Pick what you want and play, no meta flaming, no "omg noob build" flaming. Just play and have fun.

ARAM is fun every once in a while sort of as a mini URF. There's still really annoying tryhards that complain about me going movement speed Hecarim and kiting the enemy team throughout the map.

Dominion isn't that fun in my opinion from what I've played of it, I feel like it could be extremely popular with some updates.

3s are something I haven't played much of but they can be extremely entertaining if you like good dueling champions or want to play a more faster paced type of game since pretty much everyone dies at level 2

I know that people run a lot of custom games with certain objectives aside from the typical kill x team Nexus to win. I don't really know many of these but I know they're really fun with the right people from what I've heard

Trying new crazy off meta stuff in 5s is fun too, I played River Poppy and it was probably the most fun I had that week. Building an Ohmwrecker and being unstoppable at turret dives, and I even played full AP Poppy which for whatever reason is so overpowered. Or at least I think it is considering one of my first games I one shot a full tank Renekton while his ult was up

If you're simply not enjoying League I feel like taking a break for a month or two will help. There's a lot of other games and I think you'll eventually find one you like. Personally I might take a break for Heroes of the Storm as it looks fun and I don't want to exhaust the funness of league

The 1v1 mode of 2 years ago was really amazing.

It was great if you had only a short time to play if you were about to go out in 15 mins to your work or with friends and didn't have enough time to play a game. It was also a lot of fun and if you needed to go you could just auto lose the game, without affecting other players.

well they're putting the mark/dash from legend of the poro king into aram, so melee champions will probably be much better with that

You can play PvE which does not have bots in it. You can play against bots if you click on Co-Op

Dominion is the fundimentally best, but if they ever fix ARAM to force open the full champion pool (and punish dodging with a loss counted) it will become the only mode in the game not ruined by shitters spamming the most OP champions. Fuck Urgot.

It's probably the most popular game mode other than Riot's own modes. Just type in hide in the search bar for custom games.
