Ranked team builder and Lyte comments?

So there was a statement Lyte made regarding ranked team builder possibility

and it appears to suggest that Ranked MMR and Ranked Team Builder MMR could be the same in the future. My assumption would be that they would be the same ladder if they have the same MMR, and to me, changing the flagship mode to team builder instead of having traditional solo que would fundamentally change the game. Essentially you remove some of the need for depth of champion pool (different roles usually require at least 1 or 2 extra champions for you to know overall), you remove some of the need to cooperation with your team (ie weighing the value of going mid instead of top when someone requests mid, but no one requests top and you play equal amounts of the two), and you remove some of the influence of team morale and social skills (ie getting people to work together and not rage is OP as fuck).

Basically if TB ranked was the same as ranked in terms of how they showed up on your account I think it would change the game and I'm not sure if I'd like it. Am I reading it wrong, or is riot intending to replace ranked w/ TB ranked possibly?

You're reading it correctly. Lyte's mentioned in the past that they plan on replacing the current ranked champ select with Team Builder Draft. Riot's supposedly working on incentives for people to play multiple positions, yet hasn't said anything about the preference juggling and teamwork points you brought up. Unfortunately, the prevailing opinion seems to be that teamwork has no place in solo queue champ select.
