1v1 and 2v2 gamemode ideas (Discussion on Magma Chamber

This is a repost of something I made a few months ago and I'm super determined to make this a thing. Please look through everything. I have tons of videos and such at the bottom showcasing how amazing a 1v1 gamemode could be (you thought lane smite wasn't viable in lane pre-season 5, think again)

To begin

Yesterday I was looking back at the 1v1 and 2v2 event at All Stars 2014. I was looking at it on Youtube and I found that there was a similar event at All Stars 2013 on a special map I had never seen before called the Magma Chamber. This made me thinking about how the 1v1 and 2v2 experience could be made different and unique from just being in an isolated solo lane on SR. I've only played league for about 8 months so I don't know if my ideas will ruin a 1v1 competitive experience but i got an idea.

I like the idea of having a small map focusing purely on macro and micro almost like a RTS than a team focused MOBA, and not having to worry about teammates trolling (if you fail, its your fault). However the problem was that the game could end in 1 of 3 ways: a player gets a kill, a player gets 100 CS, or a player destroys the enemy tower. The metagame for this was very small (favoring ADCs and very high sustain champs such as Nunu), making it feel like a fighting game atmosphere (Meta Knight :), and you could tell what a player's goal depending on what champ they pick (EX. a Nunu is going for CS where an Annie goes for the kill). Also players would ALWAYS start red pot (not available anymore at lvl 1) and 6 potions (max of 5 now) regardless of what champ they were playing (this results in players rarely getting into their core build). Another HUGE problem was that ultimate reliant champs (Ex. Akali) are unplayable due to the gamemode's short length (taking 2:30 to 11:00). To top it all off manaless champs such as Kennen don't have to worry about mana issues and being in a position where they need to back even though they are not at low health. So my ideas to make this an unique experience are.

1.Increase starting gold similar to Howling Abyss and gold from last hits This allows item reliant champs to be viable,make early game more interesting, and make farming very important Have players start at level 3 2.This allows ultimate reliant champs to be viable and makes kit synergy relevant Increase mana regen similar to Howling Abyss This allows mana based champs to have an easier time against manaless champs such as Kennen 3.Increase lane (between towers) length and tower health Winning by tower should not be anyone's main goal it makes denying farm harder 4.Make area around bushes more relevant I was looking at how the lane format is very similar (If not the same as Mid lane on SR) where the bushes and high grounds are the same however, useless, maybe having relic buffs at the NW and SE ends where the highgrounds and lowgrounds meet that are similar to the old red pot and blue pot (just a suggestion, I know that objectives stray away from the pure 1v1 or 2v2 experience but even games such as Starcraft have objectives) (If you don't know what I mean about the map, look at the 2013 All Star's 1v1 tourney) 5.Make a winning condition involving experience (most likely lvl 12) This makes purchasing punishable with the new gold increases and allows those epic lvl 11 fights where each player has a huge power spike (sorry Elise, Karma, and Nidalee) Other Interactions

After each SR, TT, HA, or CS game you should be able to challenge a player to a 1v1 or 2v2 similar to the duel system in TF2 (which is rarely or never used) however it could allow a player to learn from their mistakes from the previous game by doing a 1v1 against their lane opponent (I do realize that this could result in bullying situations, but just look on the bright side of life, Monty Python :)

Sorry if my ideas are game breaking and me not doing enough PUNS OF DAMAGE to keep you interested in this. I wanted to get into RTSs but the macro and micro concepts were too intimidating for me, so I went into LoL. I just think it would be an interesting experience to have an easy to manage 1v1 and 2v2 format in LoL that is unique to just doing a custom game on SR. I do recognize that the likelihood of that Showdown and more importantly Magma Chamber coming back is very very unlikely (however RITO has never denied it coming back and said it was just deeelllaaayyyeeeddd, however the Legend of the Poro King gamemode did show that RITO has bigger things to deal with). Because this is supposed to be a discussion, feedback would be nice and criticism is appreciated. It would nice to know that other people want the map Magma Chamber and I'm not crazy. Please constructive comments and thank you for discussing.

Other Additions

I'd also like to add that gold regen should not be changed because it allows the person who's winning to gain a larger lead, creating a point where there is nothing you can do besides hope you can outplay them in a fight. Also It makes it too different from a normal 1v1 situation on SR. Also I might change my mind about increasing tower health due to my previous comment.I'd also like to add that the health relics on snowdown are terrible because it promotes overextending (Although it does add and objective). I'd also like too add that on the post for "cancelling Magma Chamber" said that it was only "halted" so there is a 1 in 123 Zilean chance that it may comeback.

Besides SR I don't play any other map and I wanted something new. Magma Chamber will add some variety to LoL while still keeping it competitive. To expand on top of your money idea, they could make new skins relating to Magma Chamber, like a Volcanic Jarvan , (think how epic cataclysm would be), Nautilus or (think how awesome his depth charge with lava bursting out of the ground) .

Yeah that could be fun :) And it would be useful when i 1v1 my friends. But i don't think Riot would bring it back...

Wow I was literally coming to the forums just now to bring up Magma Chamber and urge the community to request to play it again. The 1v1 and 2v2 ideas were awesome.

Yeah good plan, let's bring back the mode that nobody cares about and ignore the modes we have that are struggling.

Did you know that there are more players playing Dominion than there were playing 1v1 when it was live? Let that sink in for a minute. You have this idea that if they did something differently suddenly tons of people would want to play 1v1s or 2v2s, but in reality the fact is that laning is boring and people don't like it.

I don't get why riot said "Yeah sure, people don't like this gamemode"

I mean is not like the game lasted less than a minute and waiting to seach the game + select the champ + loading the map was like... 5 minutes.

5 times long than the actual game, come on rito....
