The thing that was missing in "Riot pls" blog

Riot's already mentioned that it plans to maintain Dominion (and the rest of the alternate maps). Better support or revivals/relaunches are harder to justify because of the small playerbase. Any comments about the small playerbase being a consequence of the lack of Riot support have pretty much been ignored though.

Eh, Dominion still probably has a higher player-base than Awesomenauts. I wouldn't call it "dead". The map is also useful for Featured Game Modes. Nearly everyone I've talked to (including SR mains) think that URF Dominion is more fun than SR Dominion. Try it the next time URF comes around!

So we still have to have a boring ugly dead game mode just to cater to a few people... I don't get it

This kind of comment has always puzzled me to no end. Dominion cuts out the laning phase (unless you enjoy laning, then you go bot) and focuses all game on skirmishes, team fights, and ganks. You constantly have somewhere to be and some objective to take, fractions of a second matter. When I play Rift it feels like I'm not actually playing the game 80% of the time.

But I guess people really like the sieging counter-sieging thing? Otherwise Murderbridge wouldn't be so popular.

It's useful for custom games.
