**An idea to fix the long waits in teambuilder lobby**

So we've all probably played teambuilder. If you haven't, I suggest you do because you get to pick who you want to go, where you want to go, every single game.

But many of us who have played teambuilder have experienced the dilemma of player juggling.

Player juggling is when you need 1 or 2 more people for your lobby, and every time you get someone, they or someone else leaves.

So say you need a jungle and a support.

  • You finally get a support, but they don't want to wait 10 seconds for a jungle because it's not a full lobby, so they click "Find another group"
  • Of course, almost IMMEDIATELY after they leave, you find a jungle, who also can't wait 10 seconds for another support to be found, so they click "Find another group".
  • Your would be team takes forever to form because people can't wait.

My proposal: Make a wait period of 20-60 seconds where people who have just joined a lobby must WAIT before they can click "Find another group" or else be penalized as they would a normal game lobby for 'dodging'

Having this wait period will give lobbys more of a chance to fill up rather than remain perpetually half-full.

I believe there is a penalty for clicking trough many teams ("Find another group") already, tho it is

A) Not "strong" enough [i guess you could say so]

B) Not clear enough that it IS even there. There should be a warning like: "When you leave teams too many times, you will get timed out of the Queue. Maybe you should wait some more seconds and see if the remaining spots will be filled quickly. Be patient."

I agree with the thematic, but i dont think there should be a wait period. Riot should think more about making needed roles more "attractive" for players to look in, by giving something like an IP boost when u fill a much needed role or something in this direction.

we don't always dodge out of impatience. if i queued up as thresh and i come into a game with an all ad comp that is still waiting for an adc, then i dodge because you need an ap support. sometimes i queue up as a passive support and see that i'm paired with a particularly aggressive adc, that's not gonna end well so i dodge. it doesn't take 30 seconds to see this kind of stuff, imposing a wait time just means that the room will fill up, and everyone will have to wait longer for the support to dodge because they don't like what they see.

or if there's a teemo, no one should play with that little satan.

Why do you assume that people leave the queue just because they are impatient. I never click 'find another group' for this reason. If I leave immediately its because something in your team comp is really off, or the group is just too off-meta for me. Or Ashe adc, I refuse to play with that nonsense.

I'd say more of something like 10 seconds wait, otherwise people would just stop playing teambuilder... and more and clearer penalties for leaving a team. If you leave a team and join another and then play ok, but if you leave 5 teams before finding a full one then you should get something to punish you.

I like the 60 seconds idea. Seems like it could work well. The only other issue I have with TB is the (usually) long wait for Supp and Jg. There have been times I've built teams where 30-50ish players have filtered in and out for mid/top/ADC over 15 minutes without ONE SINGLE SUPPORT showing. Is supporting really that bad? At least Jg you get a player every 2-3 minutes.
