@Narrative team: Where's the story?

I've seen occasional posts for 8+ months about how much work you're doing behind the scenes, and how you'd love to give updates but can't and other such nonsense. The only notable story-related thing was the Xerath/Azir stories, which in my opinion were both completely lackluster. Xerath's story was an abysmal replacement for his original lore/judgement, but at least it was something.

It seems to me what's happening here is that you guys think you can use the Valve method of storytelling despite the fact that the gameplay almost completely prevents that from working.

eg: In L4D, the story is told almost entirely through circumstance. L4D uses graffiti, exploration and rare dialogue; the story is hidden or nonexistent to the average player. League is a very static game.

The only story LoL has had since the world-destroying retcon (outside of the crap Xerath/Azir thing) has been dialogue between characters and cinematics. Oh, and the "events" (Shurima/Freijord). From a gameplay perspective, these events are nice. We get champion updates (VU/GU), skins, gametypes. From a lore perspective, these events are literally pointless. They don't advance the plot and they give no further insight into the characters involved; what more do we know about Ashe/Sejuani/Lissandra than we did before the Freijord event? Nothing. Both the Freijord and Shurima events are unresolved. They didn't end. They stopped.

Where are the updated bios that were promised almost a year ago? Why are the release bios so deliberately uninformative? Example: Ekko's "lore" tells us exactly what any observer who has watched the 'Seconds' cinematic already knows; he's a Zaunite timeboy. The only new tidbit of information is that he invented his time thing.

Why do I need to read an entire reddit AMA about a released champion to know anything interesting about them?

Simply put:

We just got a lot about Ekko, and every champion since Jinx has had a cinematic and shit. IMO the new lore is really cool, but the problem is that the old lore needs updating BADLY Also, the Azir/Xerath thing was good... It made Azir not be the Mary Sue that he was before (he is still clearly a "good guy" however), and it gave Xerath motive beyond I AM POWER HUNGRY MWAHAHAHAHA
