I think I speak for most of Vlad's fans and playerbase here when I say that Vlad's current background is fine as it is.

We love him as a human blood mage who just happens to have a gothic aesthetic (and let's face it, goth aesthetic seems common among Noxian nobility). A scholar of harmful and forbidden arts. A murderer channelling his perverse instincts into the pursuit of power. Magically augmented, but still human.

I believe that the exact quote is, "You call that being a vampire?", implying that Vlad is pretending to be a vampire, and isn't one.

Oh my god, PERSPECTIVE PEOPLE. Is the Art of Hemeomancy common knowledge? Does he give the persona of being a Vampire? Ya know, pale, long hair, rumors of people disappearing with him the cause? Is he lustful? Is he sexy as hell? Does he not seem to age?

The Characters of this world see through their own eyes, and their own experiences. It's very possible they don't know something.

They ain't removing it. They are probably gonna add REAL vampires somewhere soon to have a little color story with Vlad probably. (Vlad vs Vampires lets do it.)

Wait, who's Dmitri? Nvm, looked it up. That name might not be canon anymore tho. But yeah, the monk who taught Vlad was cool. I actually really like how, like, Vlad didn't betray his master or anything. That trope happens way too often.
