I have recently played an ARAM game with Amumu

I was on the blue side, and the ghost, just as I opened the store, remarked: "A Yordle?! Gah..."

Now I am fine with this, but wasn't Amumu retconned into a dead child looking for friends ever since the Shurima event?

Every child in Valoran has heard the tale before, About the cursed mummy boy who felt his heart no more.

The song confirms this.

The extended lore was leaked for Amumu, you can read it here (Sorry, it's an old PBE update). And there's a quote saying '"He's real, but he isn't a boy," said another. "He's a yordle!"'

So no one really knows if he's a boy or a yordle, but he's a yordle. :-/

(They probably said boy so it would fit together better musically.)

General physique I would assume, its pretty easy to tell the yordles from the other races/species in the game.

Just for future reference the ghosts name is Gregor.

I think he was originally a yordle boy,so he would have been a child and a yordle.

In the end it was left unclear if amumu is a yordle or not so no one knows for sure.

Overall I think the line was simply left in,because they forgot to remove it(or amumu is still a yordle)

Maybe the shopkeeper is just as confused about this matter as we appereantly are.

There's a behind the scenes video for the song, in it there is a clear shot of a frame where he's mostly uncovered by bandages, and in that shot he has clearly defined yordle ears.

I remember reading his old lore and it mentioned that he was a yordle before they gutted it to what it is now cause that was one thing that bothered me even though he rose from a Shuriman temple. Nobody knows who he is, not even himself, so how did they know he was a yordle?

Yordles can have a vastly different look apprently. Look at Corki, Poppy, and Tristana. They don't look like the same species but they're all yordles. Amumu could just be the type of yordle Corki is. When I heard young boy I just thought they meant a young male yordle.

Actually, the words "Boy", "Girl", "Men", "Women" "Child" etc can be used to talk about yordles.

After all, when Omega Squad Teemo talks about "men", he is talking about yordles. Rocket/Riot Girl Tristana are other examples of this. The lore of Veigar says "As a child, Veigar was a normal yordle" and the lore of Lulu says "She led all the children off to play hide and seek".

So, yeah, Amumu is a Mummy Boy... a yordle boy.

Maybe he's a boy yordle?

So Yordles can't be boys?

That's sexist m8. /sarcasm

I thought he was a cupcake?

Tesla Effect3/29/2015, 3:55:44 PM1 votes

I think they purposely left it ambiguous and open to interpretation. Just like the story of Amumu.
