Seeing as Riot probably wants to promote the Lux/Ezreal pairing (sorry Taric/Ezreal), I imagine they might have a canon-version of how they met.
But on the other hand, they might go "And f%ck things up for the shipfic writers?! NO!", and not give any official event. Just like how they won't actually tell us what Vi's real opinion of Caitlyn is.

That's an interesting thing to notice about the champs. I wonder why Riot is so hesistant to make the various fanships out there a little more concrete? I mean, it can't possibly hurt them to do so at this point; everything's getting re-written, why not go crazy?

League is teen rated and romances generally imply adult themes, so they don't showcase them. That way they don't have to hear who know how many associations of conservative parents screaming that it's a scandal the portrayal of romance in a game directed to children as well. Besides, just imagine if they set someone as not being heterosexual and in a relationship with a same sex character: BOOM, the perfect assist for reactionary associations who just want to bitch about things and videogames in particular. By implying things only, they achieve to give tidbits to those who are interested and at the same time avoid these major hassles.

I don't know. They show relationships between characters on the Disney Channel (pre-teen and teen shows), and there are movies directed at the pre-teen/teen audience that also show relationships. I wouldn't say it's an adult theme anymore, but that certainly depends on how it's presented.

That seems...daft.
I am not a lore head but it seems if you are trying to start with a clean slate, making a bunch of boring hateships is just what the game needs. I wonder if Riot realizes unique passives and interactions can go bothways.

Poro Princess1 votesI remember someone at Riot saying they were excited to eventually show how Ashe and Tryndamere got together and how it wasn't just about political union, that they actually liked each other. It was at least a year ago that I saw this and I don't remember who said it :/
But yes, I'd love to see this as well. I'd also love to know what Katarina's opinion of Garen is. We know Garen finds Kat "beautiful but deadly" as it was in the old lore, but we never got a chance to see what her opinion of Garen is.
