What do you look forward to in an Ionian update?
With Irelia and Akali vgus this year, I'm sure we'll receive more lore on Ionia, so what do people want to see? I hope we see a map.

getting a bit of a thematic push.Right now she kinda just is "asian mage".I think her theme is supposed to be that she is essentially LoLs buddha,someone who got enlightment(which judging by her new lore is seemingly someone who has contact to all of her past lifes),but her current lore doesn't go into detail about that and just slaps "enlightment" onto her abilities and calls it a theme.
The Kinkou order getting a bit established,I mean Kennen might not get a new lore til his VGU(and Shen has already one),but I feel like the whole kinkou order is a bit disconnected from the rest
and his order of shadows getting more lore.What really defines shadow magic?What is the goal of the order of the shadows/Zed?How does Zed see his students?
The best case scenario would also reveal a few more details about how Kusho was killed,but I wouldn't count on that.

getting a new lore,her old one is pretty much broken since last year.(though I fear that they retcon soraka into a neutral champ and thus ignore her for ionia)

can be ignored in my opinion,as his lore direction is pretty solid already(just change "elder" to "master" like in his short lore)
How the political and social landscape of half the nation has been radicalized post-Noxus invasion.
Other than that, I dont think the Vastaya were as fleshed out as they could have been. As just one example I want to learn more about this apparent treaty the Ionian Vastaya and humans had and like how many IRL treaties, one side ends up abusing the agreement. The more interesting part is that as a consequence some of the Vastaya would aid Noxus during the war, so more on that would be cool.
A retelling of the Ionian invasion. With Noxus lore coming up and potentially followed up by Ionia lore, a story similar to Shurima's Bloodline or Piltover's Progress Day, to retell some events of the Ionian invasion would be nice. One from Noxus' perspective maybe centered around Darius and Quill, maybe more info on Invetia could be revealed, and another from Irelia's perspective revealing the story of how she cut off Swain's arm and crippled him.
I would expect them to save updating and 's lore (maybe even 's as well) for when they reveal the Akali rework, maybe a video and some art on the Kinkou and the Order of the Shadows, similar to what they did with Mount Targon when 
was released.
Of all the champions is the most likely to not get updated imo, but depends on how much impact her new lore would have on whatever Riot is planning with the Ionia update. Basically if she still plays a role in 
's lore or not.
Who needs a map?
But seriously, I'm hoping we get some info on the spirit world and the Noxus-Ionia invasion (unless we get lore on that in the Noxus lore update).
I wanna see be a leader, or just anything at this point.

More info on and possibly being allies/friends.

Also solidify when the Ionian Invasion happened and why Noxians invade Pallas years after the invasion, as well as pinpointing when Bard: Mountain event happened.
A RIOTer stated that 2 Ionia champions getting updated is just a lucky concidence,nothing more.
As others said so as well , Karma , Soraka , Irelia , almost all champions of Ionia are long overdue for a good lore update, the region itself as well.
i find Ionia to be the most interesting region of Runettera as its culture kinda resembles eastern asian countries as well.which i love way too much. would love to see more of Ionia as well just like the Targon update. its history, the people's clothing, some of the breathtakings views.
So now with the noxian lore update we actually know that riot plans to keep the faction updates smaller,while giving us more of them in exchange.
With that in mind,I think it is likely that we might get 2 ionia updates this year,1 with and one with .
The Irelia one would likely cover some of the more central/iconic champs of Ionia( ?),while the akali one would likely focus on the kinkou( lore updates?)
I want to know what my favourite bursty bitch is up to.
I also really want Zed to try and take her on cos he wildly underestimated her and get imploded....
I'd like to see a few things with :

the return of Wukong's lore based decoys. The lore set up a cool concept with him not having decoys from the start and I hope Riot follows through on that as something like him gaining the decoys through training or something

Explaining why he's listed as friends with
. Been a nagging question for years for me and Riot seems to be keeping quite on it and not removing it, so I ASSUME they do have plans to do something with it at some point. -
More interaction with Wukong's tribe. Wukong's tribe looks interesting as they seem to be of a different mind set then Wukong on almost every level. It would be amazing to see how his tribe interacts with him and to learn more of their culture

Wukong finally gaining Wuju Mastery. This one is a bit far fetched and unlikely to happen, but I think it would be really cool to see Wukong finally gaining the rank of master and taking on a pupil of his own. Or they could just pull a star wars and let him take on a pupil, but not give him the rank of master :p
Map of Ionia, that would be great.
Seeing how Riot will retcon something important and are met with appropriate backlash, followed by them giving vague statements that essentially tell the fans that their criticisms are invalid and that they will try better next time.
I’d like to know about Ionia’s government. It’d be neat if they had a less powerful central government and instead self-governed by region/tribe/city. I’d also like to know how Syndra and Zed know each other assuming their relationship (in whatever form it takes) is still canon. And anything on Jhin would be interesting.
I want to see a different color shade of Yasuo skins, maybe expand his lore a bit more.
