Cho'Gath's size.

Cho'Gath is big. That is a fact. He is the biggest champion of the league. That is also a fact. One of Cho'Gath's pillars in terms of identity is about how big he becomes. This is the third fact. Final fact: if Riot removed Cho'Gath's size stacks and gave him a regular size, big but not as big as his current, level 16 6 stacked self, he would lose a lot of his character. People would be sad. Like, really sad. I would be sad. I mean, he'd be big, but a lot of people would pick Sion over him.

His size is the subject of this thread. Everyone can agree that Cho'Gath's mechanic of being big brings something unique in the game: this giant monster, crushing and eating. Fighting as/with/against this thing is intense. It's fun.

But...how big is he? How big is Cho'Gath? Like, can we measure that? His canon size? I know he's up for a rework and whatnot, so talking about lore and stuff can be...complicated. But hey, let's have some fun!

So, number one, we can't use the game itself. We can't measure a in-game Cho'Gath, because the size isn't canon in the league: Vel'Koz's size from his cinematic to the In-game isn't exactly the same. There are reasons for him to be so small compared to his true self, mostly because he's squishy and his size would make him easy to target.

So what can we use?

Well...the closest we have is his splashart. The one at the top. Go check it out. Analyse it. Figure things out.

Yeah, it's a mess. In terms of depths, not a lot of the poor Helmet Bros, who we can assume are all of regular size(around 5'7 to 6'3) can be used to compare. Except one. If you look closely, you can notice that the one who is right under him is at approximately the same depth as Cho'Gath mouth. If you compare the two, it's pretty easy to guess that...well...Cho'Gath doesn't even need to open his whole mouth to eat the poor Helmot Bro whole.

So yeah. Cho'Gath's mouth can eat someone whole, easily. Where does that leave us? Well...he's big.

But that's not what we want! WE WANT MORE DATA. Now, let's save me a lot of time: i will not measure pixel by pixel what he is and compare the rest of his body to it-no no no. Here's something more...awesome. A comparison.

Who here has seen Jurassic world? Awesome movie, right? Well, the main antagonist, the Indominus Rex(what a silly name) just so happens to be able to eat someone whole...easily. Doesn't even need to open her whole mouth. Look at the gif at the top, dude! She's massive!

So, since i'm lazy and is quick to jump to conclusions, i decided that yes, the Indominus Rex and Cho'Gath have a similar size, due to their mouths. Yeah, it is a bit of a stretch, but LOOK MORE GIFS

So now that i have you full attention, here's the deal: the real source, the big one, Jurassic World itself confirms that the Indominus Rex is 12 meters long.

"Meters? What are those? How much in AMERICAN?"

Using a simple converters, it seems like the Indominus Rex is 39,37 feet long. So around 40 feet.

AND THERE YOU HAVE IT FOLKS. Cho'Gath is around 40 feet long, if fully extended.

You may ask for autographs. I also do questions, but mostly autographs.

if we go by splash arts, Malphite is a walking mountain :)

You're just picking at straws and going by misguided perception of imagery I feel.

I always thought it funny when a Cho with 6 stacks and Iron Elixir could just hide in a tiny bush and yell surprise when someone goes to face check.

Zac can be the same size as Cho in-game

Well, in reality Rek'Sai is as big as a house, so I think its safe to say that Cho'Gath is much bigger than that.

I don't think researching his size might be all that easy considering he always grows a little more after eating someone, so for all we know him being so huge in his splash art is due to eating Helmet Bro's friends.

I mean in-game before getting Feast stacks Cho'Gath is tiny as hell.

Though it'd be easier to use jurassic dinosaurs for comparison; I figured he's more like one of the smaller godzilla monsters given his strange design.

Vel'koz is considerably bigger than Cho'gath.

You can actually see Battlecast Cho in Battlecast Vel's splash art and there's no comparison. Vel'koz dwarfs Cho'gath.

If Cho'Gath is meant to be the biggest champion in the game, he's splash art isn't really accurate. I actually measured Cho'Gath by using the helmet bro's size in comparison and then put the proportions on his in-game model. He would by this method be about 15 metres tall.

That's pretty big, but I did the same with Malphite, and it turns out he would be about twice as tall judging from his splash art.

Cho'gath size is actually debatable. Lorewise, he hasn't been on Runeterra for long. He could be about the size of a T Rex, yes, but give him a few years and he'll probably be as large as Mt. Everest. He grows with time. The more he eats, the more he grows.

His lore is a little foggy, since the lore relating to summoners and such is now void (get it?).

So until he gets a lore update and possibly a VU, we can only speculate. At the moment, I'd say that he is the size of an apartment house, but he can infinitely grow in size depending on his diet.

I oddly still remember the first time I saw a well played, full stacks Cho on the rift. It was nearing the end of the game and they had pushed into our base and full Cho came lumbering in and I can remember thinking "How the hell can we stop that? He is huge! We're done, there's nothing we can do" It literally brought a feeling of powerlessness, there's not stopping that thing. I don't think I've played against another champion that gave me that feeling of dread and being unable to stop the onslaught

And Cho's my top lane main now so I can defeat the enemy without even casting a spell.
