So! We're getting more music themed skins this year, right? Well, who are some good contenders?

Now, while I don't personally own any KDA skins, nor really find their music something I'd listen to on a daily basis, we can all agree that Music skins are bloody great. They combined some cool genre tropes with fitting champions to create this awesome aesthetic that also comes with some baller music too.

Like come one, Pentakill's music video serves as a permanent (mortal) reminder that music skinlines transcend the confinements of the game alone! Anyway, I'm digressing!

Here are some of the skin themes and champions I think would work really well with 'em!

Flashy colours, outrageous fashion and some groovy music! Just watch Saturday Night fever to get the feel this kind of skinline would have!

Disco Viktor Think about it. His Gravity field is a dance floor. His Ultimate is an actual Disco Ball that zaps people on a two second rhythm His Laser would be fleek as hell! He'd be wearing fancy white clothes with a V neck so deep you can see all of his glorious evolution trinkets And that cape design then, oof, it'd be too hot to handle!

Disco Taric Nothing can trump Fuzzy legwarmers Taric? Well, this might!

He's already dazzling and would fit the theme all too well! Make his ultimate a descending Disco Ball and give him smaller ones as his little shoulder gems! Also, slapping people with an oversized mic, come on!

Disco Nunu Not just a meme killer skin but one that would work well with the aesthetic as well. Think about those sick ass W's, rolling a bloody disco ball down mid!

Not really a genre I dabble in personally but there are some folks out there that would enjoy those. Rugged, tough guys and gals would work really well for these kinds of skins!

Country Graves The gruff outlaw finally wearing a bloody cowboy hat and whatever the bloody hell of an instrument his gun would be!

I'd be lying if I said I didn't have my edgy phase everyone went through in middle and highschool, and some of that still remains to this day, but we already got one member for this band! Amumu Emumu!

Add champions like: Aatrox Funneling his angst and teen frustrations into him bashing his enemies heads in with a goddamn bass Riven Reforging her instrument and promptly shattering it over her enemies in a wailing explosion of repressed emotional baggage Xayah As the Emo counterpart to Rakan who might work really well in a different skinline

Kayn He already got a Legendary skin but could you imagine a battle of the bands kind of skin for him? Pentakill RHAAST and KDA KAYN It'd be bloody awesome, just imagine the cool ass model for all three forms!

Vladimir He's the heartthrob, literally! Give him a goth rockstar skin, with him being the star of the show! after he gets a bloody VGU though, has anyone looked at his ingame model recently?

But these are just some of my ramblings, what are the champions and music genres you'd like to see represented in league's skin lineup?

The bloodball morphs into various instruments (electric guitar, bass, keyboards, saxophone, violin, etc). May even change outfits depending on what he's playing right now, since there are many ways to do progressive post blackened death jazzfusion avant-garde metal.

  • R deafens opponents, making their ears ring and heads hurt from the sheer pretentiousness, complexity and technical wankery of the music

  • E is one massive sonic wave.

  • W is where he turns into pure sound.

Basically Ihsahn, yeah, maybe with a little bit of early Opeth and NeOb and Igorrr( I love it when he puts saxophone with blast beats) in there too.

In the K/DA trailer, they hinted at a possible K-pop boy band - JEJE. Jayce, Ekko, Jhin, Ezreal. Seems legit to me.

How could you think of canidates for music-related skins and NOT mention the literal dancing Champion of the League Irelia or the Champion who has actually sung for her login screen Diana?????

(on a serious note, while I'm not into the music genres you provided, I do think you have some cool ideas for what Champions they could use and what their skins could look like!)

I don't think country would work, because there's already a cowboy skin line, and it'd be hard to distinguish it from whatever country band they make.

Some major music types you missed:

Boy Bands - These are huge, and have been for decades. There really should be a boy band doing pop of some sort, because it's a niche of music that's not only well known and easy to parody, but also one that can carve a place in League's music universe. There aren't any male groups designed to sell their sensuality to the hordes of adoring fans because Pentakill has girls in it, and KDA is all girls, so it's a nice slot to fill.

Opera - There are a lot of champions who are much classier than the more base forms of music, and thus would fit well in an opera styled thematic. The music would be difficult for Riot to do a video for, but this kind of classy music fits best for characters like Jhin, Camille, Swain and so forth.

As another addition to the country band skin line, I would like to suggest Nasus, because I know a old country song or two about a dog leaving the guy after his girl left.

Also, awesome idea for the Kyan/Rhaast skin, it's so perfect for him!

I want a 4 or 5 man-Korean boy band that's either rivals or friends with K/DA for their AU lore, with any of the following champs being potential contenders:

Ezreal Kayn Ekko Talon Yasuo Taric Zed Vladimir Shen Rakan Lucian Jhin Jayce Draven

Seems redundant and I'll probably get downvoted for suggesting it, but if Star Guardians can get different groups/generations of magical school girls and Project can get different factions of cyborgs/androids/etc, then I don't see why Riot wouldn't want to expand on this new k-pop skin line they've created, especially when:

  • K-pop is a huge global phenomenon right now.
  • Is obviously popular in Asia (where most of Riot's target demographic resides.)
  • The K/DA vid went viral, gaining over 140 million viewers within the span of a few weeks, while the song rose the top-selling charts within the same week.
  • Did a FANTASTIC job at catering to current players and returning players.
  • Managed to catch the attention of many, many people who aren't even interested in League or competitive gaming in general, and in turn, brought in plenty of new players.
  • K/DA probably became their best-selling skin line ever, if the above information wasn't enough proof.

While I don't think they can introduce another all-female k-pop group (because then it would get would start feeling like Riot is milking it hard) I do think they can get away with creating said boy band group, and maybe pullilng a Pentakill by giving K/DA a 5th member later down the line. They're lacking a support champ, and since Sona can't be an option because DJ Sona exists in the same AU as K/DA and Pentakill, then I think Janna Lux Leona Morgana ZyraSoraka are all possible contenders for a 5th member.

Though I think it would probably end up going to Morgana considering the fact that she's getting a rework, and is a popular champion for a lot of beginning players.

If Riot happens to produce music videos for any one of these genres, then I hope Emumu isn't expanded into it's own hardcore punk band.

Like realistically, just how accessible would that style of music be with the community, or even the world considering K/DA's explosive popularity (it has more views than Endgame!). Compare hardcore punk with the accessibility of most other music genres, would it even stand?

Not to mention an Amumu led music video has been done before, would the devs be that keen to retrace a similar project?

disco is a commonly disliked form of music, it wouldnt sell and wont be done. Country overlaps too much with the wild west skin line and wont be done. Blues is depressing and too old and wont be done. Hiphop/rap...kpop is technically both of those so i doubt theyd add either hip hop or rap without simply expanding the kpop universe, theyd also be likely to copy that famous kpop boyband so it's a posibility. Plus pop is the least offensive popular music style in your list so i think it has the most potential. Rap by itself has negative cultural connotations in various countries and wouldnt be done. If they added to the goth skins it wouldnt be music related as goth and emo isnt a real genre and what could loosley be considering that would not appeal to a wide enough audience to sell skins so it's out. Punk rock maybe but poprock would be far more likely although any rock in general may just be changed to classic rock and or added to the pentakill line. As far as the black sheep go, i think a battle of the band vs event including vlad and someone else would be like lightyears better than the shit dogs vs cats hopefully april fools joke we have this year.
