Was Mecha Kingdoms a Success?

In my opinion, it was not worth it to skip over Twitch' well deserved Lunar Revel skin for this. I like the "traditional" Lunar revel skins (Firecracker, Warring Kingdoms, etc.) much more and was really hyped for a Firecracker Twitch skin.....

I really don't like mecha skins, I'm much more interested in historical (winged hussar xin for example) inspired skins. Honestly, I don't really like any of the skinlines other than star guardian, I don't buy skins based off of the skin lines, I buy them based off of the champion, and I feel like a lot of people do that too. I kinda miss the miscellaneous 975 skins that were disconnected from skin lines.

I don't like the project skins either, the whole mech/augment/cyberpunk thing doesn't really peak my interest.

Mecha Kingdoms Jax is legitimately one of the best skins in the entire game, made even more amazing by the fact it gives animations that don't cause eye bleed to one of League's worst looking champions.

The other skins? I'm not sure sure. No clue why someone would use the Leona skin when the Eclipse skins exist. I haven't seen the Draven skin yet. Garen has a Prestige attached and I feel like people aren't buying the "default" one as a result. I'm not too sure if all the non-legendaries are that successful, but I do find the line pretty cool and the Jax one is incredible.

I have no clue, I haven't seen any mecha skins in game besides Jax, Leona, and I think Garen. Knowing how popular Garen is, I'm surprised I haven't seen someone playing the prestige one yet!

Doing the same theme over and over again its exhausting and boring.

I want riot to stop making robot skin lines. First, we already have plenty, second off I HATE ROBOT i hate this robot stuff. I dont hate every robot skin per se because a select few are okay, but over all just pls holy stop. I dont like them and i want less

Also my favorite skin line, Star Guardian whhyy oh why did they do the stupid fucking corrupted guardian stuff I just want my regular pretty skins i dont want dumb ass edgy shit added to it

I think most of the skins are pretty cool, especially Sett's and Jax's.

The only one I don't like is Draven because it doesn't make sense to me, why they chose a squishy glass cannon champion for a giant mech suit skin line we may never know.

The draven skin sold so poorly that riot immediatly had to buff his ultimate to force him into the meta. ok, jokes aside I think the skins are ok but I still prefer the classic lunar revel skin-lines.

I like them but they came in such a time where I had no money to buy any and I was really looking forward to Jax or Sett skins.

The only skins I like from the mech skins are jax and sett. Despite that I probably won't buy either of them. The rest look out place like they tried to force the mech skins on them. Personally, I like my skins to be sexy and sometimes cute. Occasionally, I will like a futuristic skin like Project Ashe and Project Katarina, which are sexy despite not showing any skin. The Garen skin is way too bulky. Demacia Vice skin for Garen is better than mech skin.

To put it simply, I don't want more robot skins or Chinese theme skins. I don't like the art style of Chinese clothing. In fact, I don't like any traditional East Asian clothing. I doubt it that Riot will stop with the Chinese theme skins. That's mainly why I didn't buy Prestige Vayne and Riven. I really really dislike that clothing style.

Personally I think they should have advertised them much more as skins that are there to celebrate the chinese new year, I actually didn't realize that they were the new years skins when I first saw them. I think it would have been better to design a skin for Twitch and then base the rest of the skins around that.(still hope that twitchs skin this year will be linked to the chinese zodiac in some way).

With that being said, I do think that the general idea of experimenting with the seasonal skins a bit is a good thing. I mean they are kinda doing that with halloween already, with each year having its own theme and it geniunly makes you guess what they might have in place for each year and prevents riot from just adding more and more skins with a theme that is already overused.

I'm a big fan of them, especially Leona's one which is the first skin that has actually made me buy all the chromas for it. I think as seen in the comments, most peoples dissatisfaction comes from the fact that it replaced the Lunar skins or whatso, but that doesn't stop the fact that they are really nice skins. Would've liked to have seen a villain skin for the set though, but maybe we'll get one sometime later?

The one thing I don't get is the "Appeal to Tradition" argument that everyone has towards the Lunar Revel skins (And to some degree the Snowdown skins). Sad as it may be, Riot isn't going to force themselves to make skins that don't sell well. (Of course that's whether or not you believe them when they say that, but that argument is dumb. If they're lying, that means they do sell well, and there's no reason not to make them.)

was just a giant "fuck you" to twitch mains ive only seen mecha jax, once or twice in game, havent seen leona or draven or garen but, i myself own mecha sett.

I'm not a fan. I think every champ that got one has multiple skins I like more (except Sett obviously) and the designs aren't all that interesting, just more robot skins. A bunch of other comments have also expressed fatigue with robot skins and I have to agree. One positive I can say is at least they aren't Super Galaxy (which seems to thankfully have been discontinued).

I just wish they had given Twitch his due Lunar skin, even if they just made it as a one-off and not part of an event or set like we usually get. I still think he deserved it. I'd be a lot more okay with the Mecha Kingdoms if they weren't a replacement for a line I really like.

They should have added a "Kaiju" skin line to go with them so it felt more in themed. Right now it just looks like Project skins with a different name.
