After listening to the Jhin's audio:

I couldn't help but wonder if Jhin himself may not be a psychopath. He may be possessed by the mask or his weapon.

I don't know there's a few pieces of dialogue that really makes it seem like he's crying out for help or implying that he's suffering inside which is contradictory to what he says most of the time.
