The Ahri statue is...a surprising disappointment.

Ahri Statue Preview Before anything else, this is a PERSONAL opinion on something that is subjective in nature. So before the down votes come down and all of you call me stupid or retarded please take what I say into consideration. If not then at least have the decency to act civil.

I love that Ahri got a statue and all. It looks fantastic...except for the face...the face is...ugly as hell, I'm sorry to admit that and it upsets me a lot but it really does look ugly to me. Her face looks to be in a permanent uncaring, soulless frown rather than a soft, guile smile (to give her the characteristic of a seducer...which she is.) or a fierce, battle-driven scowl (to give her the characteristic of her vast energy and her overpowering will) which both would have worked better and should have been on there. It's not even that the whole statue is bad, it's just her face. It's a blank emotionless expression and it looks so...derpy and lifeless compared to the rest of it.

I know the product is out and what I say might just be a vocal minority but honestly, the face alone is going to keep me away from purchasing that statue, which is a shame because I think the Twisted Fate statue is absolutely gorgeous and worth every penny. I'm just angry at this more than anything else because I love Ahri and TF so after TF got a statue I had pretty high expectations and this one just seemed to be complete let down. Like I said, the rest of it looks great. Riot should just really change her expression though, it looks uglier than hell.

I guess that's the end of my rant I suppose.

P.S. And what the fuck is with that eye shadow and the lips' color? The eye shadow honestly looks like crap and her lips seems discolored. I guess that's my own opinion but those two aspects REALLY need to be worked on I think.

Edit: To those of you saying her face seems to look better in the video please pause it and take a real close look at her face. No matter how I look at it there's always something off...

In fact after looking at this screen caps it looks fucking worse.

She's actually fucking derped eyed it looks like.

Agreed, huge disappointment in the face, I was all about the statue until I saw it. I want to know what company Riot contracted out the design and production to because they failed miserably. Megahouse, Good Smile, and Alphamax would all have jumped on board for the practically free money this thing could make in the Asian market, but that face will affect sales.

To be fair, this is a problem with literally all of their figures. They somehow pick the ugliest sculpts available, which is hilarious when you look at how many amazing fan figures there are with tremendous sculpts.

have you seen the neck on that thing? Holy shit, its long and its a straight up cylinder. its like there was no actual anatomy in place for the neck. they just rolled out some "whatevertheyused" and put it there.

It seems like they wanted to make it look like her new splash instead of the old one. Stop trying to fix what isn't broken - stop trying to change Ahri. I thought you would have understood this by now a year later. We haven't forgotten about the splash update catastrophe, and then the impostor in A New Dawn. I'm also really hoping this isn't her new lore and it's just a story...

I think the angle of the face is just bad. In the video "crafting ahri"-video you can see her statue from the front and I have to say that the face looks a lot better in the video than it does on the picture.

Dunno though why it looks a bit off if shown from the side...

While I don't degree with how strongly you hold this position, I generally agree. The rest of the statue is amazing, and if I buy it, it will be in spite of her face, and her face (and to some degree, her neck) will always bother me.

It's also telling to me that of all the parts you can see closeups of on the statue, her face is not an option, her thigh/side of her butt is, but not her face. Riot has to know the face would be important to people buying it, so not giving the option almost seems like a tacit admission.

Edit: Also, the insides of her ears are supposed to be white.

They didn't make her look like she looks in-game, but as the newer splash art to some extent, except it seems Riot still fucked up the new splash art XD, Ah Riot, how i love it when you mess up... Ahri looks more like Ghost Bride Morgana or Miss Fortune than an actual Ahri ^_^.

Must be a statue that is teasing a new Morgana skin XD.

In-game Ahri is playful and deceiving. The statue, is the exact opposite. Riot sure cares about their champions that they would mix up the personalities XD.

The fact that the thing connecting her to the base of the statue is just one freakishly long tail is well...weird. It wouldn't be a problem if the tail looked like the other ones on the statue, but the long one just stands out too much; its the first thing i noticed when looking at the preview.

The orb seems a little too tiny and pathetic looking, and her hands look kinda cramped up. Ahri is associated with being swift and flow-y, as shown in "A New Dawn", so the way her hands are posed just don't fit her character.

Speaking of the cinematic, Ahri has white tufts of fur on the inside of her ears, while the statue does not. Guess they used her new splash art as reference then.

The statue looks nice, don't get me wrong. Her outfit looks amazing on the statue, its well made There are just little details that would've made it look 100x better.

Another huge problem is her freakishly long arms and hands. Her hand can literally engulf her entire head and her elbows line up with her lower hips, it's really weird.

Having a few Japanese figure myself, I think that some figures in the store is just... meh~

I personally would rather pay higher price and get better craftmanship figure.

As someone who paints miniatures as a hobby, I just want to say the paintjob on these "statues" is really, really bad quality. I could do better myself. And the price they're asking for them is absurd. Would never buy, not even if I had money to blow.

That Thresh one is the worst offender of them all. Paint and sculpture both.

The Ahri statue's neck and more particularly, HER HANDS and her fingers especially look extremely strange, with almost no detail in them, her hands look like a 4 year old drew them and someone sculpted it based off of that.

She took a nerf bat to the face.... and since its Ahri we're talking about, I'm not buying it precisely because Ahri is meant to be beautiful, not ... whatever the hell that is.

I agree. When i first say it, i thought to my self "hey Ghost Bride Morga... oh it's Ahri who got a statue?"

The make up or eye liner looks hilarious. Like she was crying too much or like a stereotypical Yandere anime character going berserk after her lovey duvey hooked up with the Tsundere. Looksfunny.

She even gives off a bit of a Tsudere vibe now that i think about it, looks like she is trying so hard to express no sense of friendly emotions.

Lips look deformed, and are painted too dark, had they been a softer cooler something more bright or closer to pink the better to give off a more playful look that would go with her in-game personality, while the darker red makes he seem like she seems to hate you and be more like Maleficent more than anything else ^_^. Had Ahri had a more serious tone in-game, instead of "come try your luck" or /giggle (when laughing) and had more of an assertive laugh or more assertive quotes then it would make sense to have the dark lipstick. The eyeliner could have been less, or of a lighter color, like a light brown or peach-ish would have been a bit better to her in-game personality. Yes she is a seductress, but she gives off a different vibe.

In other words, looks like Riot mixed up Miss Fortune and Ahri in the statue XD

The rest however, looks great.
