If the lore had been replaced promptly, as in - right after the Dev Blog: Exploring Runeterra was released, we'd be happy. Instead we are having to sit here twiddling our thumbs as if Narrative never existed. With them only claiming they have stuff, and them claiming they were re-writing a bunch of it due to "we can do better, and will." COUPLED WITH their idiotic notion of "surprises EVERYWHERE" and that fucking stupid habit of only revealing extremely important character notes in Q&As and random ass few and far between posts we literally can't discuss anything current, because there's nothing current to discuss beyond the half baked lore we already have.
So yeah. I'd love badass discussions. But there's nothing new that we can honestly discuss.

-With no IoW, he can go about his fiery apocalypse as he pleases.
- His entire lore ties into why he joined the League: to gain the spotlight he desires. Without that... What is he doing in the world again?
- You could feasibly tack this guy into the Shadow Isles, but again his old lore completely ties into the Institute.
- Would need a complete overhaul to his background.
- No prison = Nobody stopping him from his rampage!
- Was literally BUILT for fighting in the League of Legends, like did the team forget this champion exists?
- While NOT lore-dependent, I just wanted to give this guy a shoutout for how utterly tacked-on and thoughtless his new lore is. I mean, he doesn't even LOOK like he belongs in Shurima! What was wrong with the "last of his kind" deal? His description of being nothing more than a dungeon boss also clashes horribly with his in-game personality, which conveys an intelligent and melancholy being.

Most of the post retcon lore seems to imply that we should: refer to the old lore, except where it is retconned...and if that doesn't make sense...Jax... Ignore it for now.
It looks lke Riot wants us to assume old lore is cannon except where it isn't! Which is most of the new lore! Pretty Silly!
It basically amounts to telling players that they should assume old lore is cannon except where it isn't. I think that's really stupid.

Yes, (always had except when "retcon complaint" thread pop up in the masses) but you will just come and ruin the thread Imp, just as you did it here.
Even when we have something to discuss about (like when Ekko was released), there they were, retcon complaint threads....it needs to stop cause its really annoying seeing nothing but complaints, we infact WE CAN have different topics flying around.

Riot is a business. They win when they provide players with what players want, and what makes their game more popular.
Also, Riot seems to want to be the most player friendly/receptive company out there...at least they used to be back in season 2/3. I may be assuming they still care about that kind of stuff, but I'm willing to assume they still do.. to some extent at least.
Let me ask you this question players: On the off chance Riot makes a ridiculously stupid decision, should players call them on it on the boards?
Personally, I think we should. Player feedback can help make a game better, and give direction to an otherwise disorganized staff.
And seriously, the lore department doesn't even seem know what they want to call themselves anymore, Unfortunately, they don't seem to have their shit together in terms of public image at least.

But seriously I think that the problem is that the environment for lore has changed.
We used to be able to discuss things in detail because RIot used to actually give us details to discuss.
Currently, ignoring their spotty retcon which makes the current lore wildly inconsistent) Riot doesn't seem to want to make the effort to include facts about Runeterra into their champion releases anymore.
They seem to want each champion to exist in a vacuum, with one or two connections to the other champs....hence the dissolution of the League of Legends and the Institute of War.
To be frank, Riot isn't gonna put much effort into lore details anymore. They don't care that much about story, or Runeterra.
They're going to try to give each champion a theme and create enough media around that champ to their concept seem solid.
Definitive story in champion bio's doesn't matter anymore, Riot has all but said so.
I realize that this isn't the conversation you wanted to have GenociderX, but while things are the way they are, we can't really go back to the way things used to be just yet.
Before we can get back to those kind of conversations, Riot needs to get their shit together first and explain retconned Runeterra in a satisfactory and cohesive way, so that we cant talk about it in detail.

I've been in plenty of good discussions about stuff I like and stuff other people like. Snarkyness doesn't have to dictate what is talked about on the boards.

I guess there just has to be that one person like you who cares a whole lot, and finds a way to utilize the boards and community to their full potential and advance the lore, or nothing will have gotten better with the retcon.
