Who is likely to be a part of the Noxus update?

Obviously all champions will get their stories told eventually, but with the way Riot has left out some champions from previous updates, it makes me wonder who is considered "core" to Noxus.

I really hope Sion gets a full background text. I think he's important enough to Noxus to be considered "core".

And Urgot, seeing as he is likely going to be tied to the Noxus update

Maybe not, though. Urgot kinda isn't really a core noxus champion. Same reason they told us for Sona or Xin Zhao are not represented in demacia, because they have mixed identity of demacia and ionia. Urgot kinda has mixed identity with Zaun. So maybe they hold on with the noxus update till Swain, who is much more core noxian.

One of Riot's problems with live Urgot is that he's a Noxian champion that looks like he belongs in Zaun. I'm anticipating that this will be fixed with the Urgot rework, and that the Noxian lore update (and summoner icon... HYPE) comes along with.

His hextech augmentation is too prominent in his design, though. If they want to remove his hybrid nature, they should rework his lore to a chem baron from Zaun and cut his ties to noxus. Which means he is not part of the noxus update.

How do you want to keep his major design and remove his ties to Zaun, when this champ is half machine and Noxus right now doesn't have major development in technology?

I didn't necessarily say cut his ties to one faction or another. You can be an augmented horror monster and still bear resemblance to Noxian colors and themes. Maybe Noxus doesn't bring Urgot to Zaun, and instead bring Zaunites to Noxus to work on Urgot, resulting in a body that integrates Zaun technology that was forged with the materials and components available in Noxus.

Just an example, his lore overhaul is likely going to be rather extensive, but this is just to demonstrate that you can have a Noxian champion with ties to Zaun technology without appearing as a totally Zaunite champion.

Noxus is actually a lot smaller then I first thought. A lot of the champions who were previously Noxian, have since been retconned and put elsewhere. My assumption for the Noxus event is; Katarina Talon Leblanc Darius Draven Vladimir Sion

Champions who may or may not get left out include: Cassiopeia , Her lore has already been expanded upon. More could be done for her, but she's in no desperate need for lore updates. Urgot , inevitable update. We might get a hint towards him. Swain , inevitable update. Might appear in LB's story however.

It's possible Riot will swap out Sion for Swain But I doubt the lore team will give up the opportunity to create duality between Galio and Sion

Personally I think it'll be Kat, Cass for Noxus Prime; Talon, Draven, and Darius for those who climbed their way to the top; and LeBlanc and maybe Vlad for the Black Rose. I could see them holding off on Swain until his VGU, while Riven will probably be after Ionia. Sion could get a story too.

Oh idk, maybe some details before he killed J1? Some more hints at his personality or the man he was before he became a legend?

We know he was a bit of a brute. He was the one who wanted to march out of the Immortal Bastion and charge the Demacian army, so he was a bit over-enthused with valor. We know he was a true Noxian, what more do we need to know?

More importantly, does it affect who he is now and would there be a better time to talk about who he was? I think waiting to give us the low-down on who he was might be worth it so it can be revealed at a more dramatically appropriate time.

But how much was he really? What if he was like Darius where he was a serious leader? Or what if he really was as brutal and warmongering as people see his undead shell?

What motivated him to follow the Noxian way of life? Was he born from Noxus or was he from a tribe that was conquered? Did he have a family? Does he have descendents? How close was he to Boram? A whole bunch really.

What would be a more dramatically appropriate time? There is no real arc in Runeterra.

As for if it effects him now, potentially yes. It could portray him as a more tragic character by showing us that Sion was a man more than he was a legend, and that legend has reduced him to the monster you see before you.

I can see them doing a Noxus lore update with Swains VGU as he represents Noxians ideals and beliefs pretty well.

I'm keeping hope alive that we'll get an update to the Riven lore in the Noxus update, but I'm not sure that she's considered "crucial" to Noxus the way people like Katarina and Talon are. If they intend to tell more stories, though, Riven's great for that, considering her status as an Exile and her disagreement with current Noxus' policies and her wandering leads to a lot of story possibilities.

I always thought she had one of the more interesting lores in old Runeterra...but they never did anything much with her past her own lore. Can we get some Riven stories where she's acting on her journey to find herself, and to atone and whatnot? What exactly is her method of atoning? I'm sure that Noxus wouldn't be too keen on deserters, too, so I'm pretty sure they'd send people after her...

I doubt Riven will be part of the update, though. Mostly because of the exile status. She is no longer involved in Noxus' business that much and there are alot of champions from there they could choose instead.

True, but if part of the aim of the Noxus update is fleshing out Noxus' culture and way of life, its strengths and its faults, what better vehicle to do that than someone who was once one of Noxus' most respected and loyal soldiers, became disillusioned with it and her own actions, and deserted? Her lore story could be her having to fight off a gang of Noxian soldiers sent to reclaim her, for instance. I think that would be pretty cool.

New Riven could just have deserted, and not be far from Noxus Prime itself when she is accosted by them.

Depends on whether a Noxus update is centered on Noxus Prime or the Ionian invasion, I guess. Certainly she'd be central to the latter, probably not to the former.

My assumption:

Draven and Darius . Draven is related to Urgot , and Darius his Draven's brother. Darius also holds a high position in Noxus and basically tied to it in every shape and form.

Leblanc . She is the head of the Black Rose, one of Noxus' most well-know (or was it a secret) organization. Swain . He is the leader of Noxus and tied to the Black Rose. Elise and Vladimir . These two have ties to Swain and LeBlanc as they are a part of the Black Rose.

Talon . These three are brothers and sisters. Katarina has several ties inside and outside of Noxus (cough Garen cough). Her story has to come. Talon and Cassiopeia both have ties to Katarina, but I don't know them well enough to say that will or will not be a part of the update. They most likely will since they relate to Katarina, but otherwise I am unsure.

So, they all have a pretty good chance. However the core ones will most likely be Urgot , Darius , Katarina , Draven , Leblanc , and finally Swain .
