Yuumi's eyes look a little uncanny valley to me

As far as I know, human eyes are the only eyes that have a "white" area surrounding the pupil and iris. Most if not all animal eyes don't have that—it's just the pupil and iris, with maybe a bit of white if the animal is worried or looking far enough to the side. Human eyes also have round pupils, while cat eyes have oval or slitted pupils, depending on the level of light. Seeing a feline character with oval/slitted pupils, an iris, and a human-like sclera looks pretty weird to me, and I'm curious if the art team tried it the normal cat way and it didn't work for some reason.

Her eyes look more feline in her splash to me—there's a bit of "white" area at the corners, but it's not as large (or white) as in her in-game model. Although to be fair I'd imagine the details of the eyes would be a little difficult to see unless you zoomed in really far, so maybe it doesn't matter.

It's a small thing, but I'd appreciate some insight on it.

Cats have eye whites actually, but their irises are proportionately massive compared to their whites so you usually only see them when they're ill.
