meanwhile we're playing a Gladiator-like game where we pit champions against eachother in a grueling battle to the death, females in splash arts with skimpy outfits, and even a full-blown butt in one that's supposed to be an ugly-ass Frankenstein-like character, gore, a foul-mouthed community, and the ESRB rating even states that it has tobacco.

Most parents/players that won't [allow their children to] play this game because of the skimpy splash arts and a foul-mouthed community, and if they'll allow them to play even with that I doubt they'll stop them because of fucking tobacco.

or opposed to Riot not wanting to lose a bunch of money by not being able to sell their game in those countries?

profanity can be solved because dialogue is localized for each region, however Riot can't really just have different splash art for every different region, that makes no sense.

Nah, it was Riot's choice. They removed it because they want their game to be marketable in China ( one of their biggest markets).

True, sex sells, but its not like having a single cigar in a splash art is going to stop more people from playing than half the splash arts being skimpy as fuck. Maybe in some cultures, but if they're going to fit their game to one culture they should do the same for every other, and I think almost every parent ever is going to have a problem with their children seeing almost naked women that are made to be arousing.

What might happen maybe once in every 1,000 players: Kid finds League Kid plays League Parent sees loading screen or some kind of splash art Parent bans kid from playing because of skimpy splash art

Another: Person finds lLeague Person is offended by skimpy splash arts Person leaves League

Something that might happen once in every 1,000,000 players: Kid finds League Parent sees cigar Parent bans kid

Person finds League Person sees cigar Person quits League

Yet for some reason they took the time to remove a cigar instead of profanity even though it would help with almost nothing, while removing profanity could garner them thousands of more players.

oh i whole heartedly agree, but it is something they don't want to test... Smite was sued by a whole religion because one of the gods was "pornified"... Example: http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x2piu7y It may be a spit in the bucket but being safe on all content is easier for everyone... riot doesn't need the community yelling at them over patches and parents because of other items. Secondly Gragas Esquire has a cigarette so idk why they deleted graves's cigar... only the thing i can think of is a skin having it is Optional vs default. Got me but thats all i learned in college for game design... better to appeal to more than to be risky when you have a decent following...

I personally wouldn't care if the next champ had double d's or was jacked as fuck, as long as i like there lore, and gameplay i will play reguardless...

Riot doesn't CARE about offending the Chinese with a cigarette. They care about the bottom line. Money. You guys are forgetting that China is a communist regime thy highly censors media coming into their country. If something is unacceptable to the Chinese government, they will block it. Apparently the Chinese government finds smoking inappropriate.
