Considering the model quality we usually get, Kayles hair just looks really chunky, off, and not like actual hair.

Yeah, it looks like 5 massive hair strands of varying lengths that were seemingly just placed on her head at random, rather than actual hair.
It looks weird because it's not a cool helmet like Kayle deserves. Curse you Rito
I think if her hair were darkened to a very light white-blonde, so that it has some texture, it would look more natural like Morgana's.
