@Riot - Thank You For Varus Lore

So many people are going to downvote this thread and not actually read it, just because of the title alone. What I love is that the people who haven't read the new lore and don't intend to actually read lore, are going to make comments about lore. If these people actually take the time to sit down and really read the lore, they would see that Varus is not homosexual but the human souls are. They will also see that it is a story about overcoming adversity and using love to do it. There is a internal conflict between the two souls and the Darkin. The Darkin half of the character is on a path of revenge and creating chaos.

Please stand firm on this lore change and do not change it. It seems to me from all the comments and hate being made, people who don't actually read lore prefer a straight man with a wife and kids is better representation than the new lore. When in reality the Darkin could of had a child and wife and lost them.

Yet again someone who believes that the problem is homosexuality... If you actually looked at the complains that people are making, you would've understand that the real problem is the fact that Riot just crossed big red X on Varus' old lore, which was definitely one of the community's favorite, just to replace it entirely with something way too different. All in all, it wasn't a reworked lore, but just a whole new character who replaced the old one. I can understand that Riot wants to get closer to the LGBT community for whatever reason, but they just destroyed something they already created to do it instead of just creating a whole new character who could've done the job too. But noooo, like a lot of rewritten lore lately, Varus just got erased from Runeterra's lore just to reappear as someone else, a someone else who's sole utility and interest community-wise is to appeal to a group of players who weren't directly able to identify to a character. It's great that they bring homosexuality to the lore, its something they never directly did before, but now they just chose a character randomly, erased it and replaced it entirely.

So let people complain, they deserve to do it. Most of them just lost a champion they really liked before and they want it back. Sorry for bad english

Who gives a fuck about homosexual characters?

We care that a character that was a father figure turned into an amalgamation. His League Judgement was my favorite lore piece to come out of this game. Add in he constantly looks at a locket of his family and tries to control the corruption of his body and he was my favorite character in the lore.

Now try and explain why he has blight. Try and explain why he has corruption in any format. Varus made that body, why would he have demon pants?

Meanwhile Riot's lore team is running all over the place retconning the lore THEY JUST WROTE

Varus is the name for all 3 characters now. Um what?

I really enjoy how this lore opens up a new layer of conflict in Runeterra: The Darkin Resurgence. Who's going to be on the trail of the Darkin? Are the Darkin all searching for eachother? How do they intend to bring about the end if there's only 5 of them? These are questions I'm excited to see answered.

A technicality. When people refer to Varus, they mean the host, because that’s who Varus always was. They don’t mean the Darkin, as the Darkin was just given that name recently.

I find it interesting that people love the idea of using love to overcome the adversity of the Darkin, as I find that even more cliche than a man who sacrificed then goes on a vengeance streak until the power takes over.

I read his old lore, and it could have showed a different aspect of the Darkin transformation:

Aatrox - already consumed his host Kayn/Rhaast - battling for control Varus - accepting his fate but trying to do what he can with the time that he has left.

Plus, having been a father for a year now, I connected with his old lore much better. It would take immense faith and willpower to not go beserk on the guy that lead to my family’s death. The thought of losing a child is immensely tragic and, as others have stated, we have a severe lack of parents/former parents in League. Azir and Varus are the only confirmed parents (or Varus was), while Darius is assumed to have a child. That’s it. And one was taken from that group.

His lore was X’d when it was not necessary to do so. That is why people are mad.

If he was already more than one soul in a body, i wouldnt give 2 shits if they were all transsexual golfballs ffs. I care that instead of expanding on lore, they just change it. Varus was a man who gave up everything for vengance. He wasnt what theyre saying now. Ive been upset with some of the lore changes for awhile now. When they reworked WW's lore, that basically made soraka a useless goat zebra who did nothing heroic to stop his rampage for he was a man before and raka changed him to reflect his inner self. The point of the matter is it feels very thrown together to match OW's tracer. We knew she was a lezbo it was so obv. But idgaf. I care they completely change lore.
