Riot, you're killing off the lore fans.

Come on now....... WE can't even start a conversation about lore anymore....not like we used too. Can't someone just give us something that can tell us what's currently going on in runeterra? Or are we just going to slowly die off to the point where no one is going to even acknowledge lore anymore.

Wait there are other lore fans playing league? I thought they drove us into extinction months ago when they retconned the league of legends out of the league of legends...

Riot did to their lore what Runescape did to their combat system.

The whole lore is just done awfully.

Most of the champion bios are old, and the ones that aren't are disgustingly short. This wouldn't be a problem if Riot were to release content more frequently, but it seems like the lore is tied mostly to champ releases/reworks (which means waiting months for updates). The champs who do have more than a paragraph about them actually have quite a bit of lore, that is, if you can find it. Unless I'm mistaken, there is no official archive for the lore pieces they do. All these problems are multiplied when you realize YOU BARELY KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THE WORLD THESE STORIES ARE BEING TOLD IN!!! Most of the things about the world I know are based on assumptions from the old lore.

It's even worst if you're new. Most of the basic info about places in the game where things take place is learned through in game hints! Not to mention the confusion caused from the mention of the completely irrelevant "League of Legends" (which is hilarious considering that's the name of the game) in older champion bios.

To sum things up, here's Azir's lore:

Once a mortal man blinded by his own hubris, Azir has recently returned as an Ascended being with unmatched dominion over the burning sands. He seeks to restore Shurima to its former glory, but some dispute his right to rule them. Azir’s power, however, is undeniable.

Not a lot right? Of course you're probably saying "But Bob, There's much more lore on him if you go to the wiki!", and you would be right. The problem is that if you look at the page on the website, this extended lore or a link to it is nowhere to be found, so without this knowlegde, I'm stuck thinking "Omg this new lore sucks. Why Rito D:".

Well you see, a second Rune Wars broke out between all the remaining summoners that warped all of Runeterra and those in it, creating a massive retcon where all champion's previous identities had been lost. However the summoners, being tied to the runic magic used to warp the world, disappeared along with it.

And so, welcome nonexistent summoner, to Season 2 of the League of Legends lore. (League doesn't exist anymore either I forgot)

If you can't wait a little longer you must be a pretty impatient person.

I love the lore as much as the next guy, but you realize there are hundreds of games out there with hours of lore, right? You can bide your time a few more months.

As the looks of it, Rioters are only actively commenting here during some major lore release or champion release. Other than that, we wont seeing them come here and comment back the actual answers we want them to....unless its something they can answer about and its during the time they are active here.

Riot hired a guy from Warhammer 40K for lore though

In Heros of the storm they start off buy telling you not to think too hard about the why. RIOT should do like Team Fortress and make scenarios based on fictitious missions that drive an overall theme.
