@Riot Lore - Why are the Trolls always the bad guys ?

There is a lot of hype surrounding Ornn and Freljord , and i love it

But this made me remember of the trolls of Freljord.

They are only depicted as bad or neutral, just like a disposable enemy in a RPG

Even the Void have some depth with Jax(Something corrupted), Kassadin(Human corrupted), Rift Herald(Scuttle crab corrupted?) and Rek'Sai(Xer'Sai corrupted) that Trolls don't have

[They are connected to the Void, but don't act accordingly to its plans]

Could we ever expect to see Trolls become anything more interesting than a standard enemy ?

Mentions of Trolls in the Lore :

  • Vayne (Troll killed very fast)
  • Ryze (Hungry ice troll)
  • Braum (Troll kid)
  • Trundle (a pleasant amount of Troll lore)

Well isn't the troll kid from braum a more positive depiction of a troll? After all Braum risked his life to protect the troll kid, showing that Braum values Trolls just as much as everyone else.

Also you should keep in mind that the trolls are not their own faction, they are currently a subfaction of a subfaction.

Trundle in particular doesn't scream 'villain' to me. He's easily a grey character that is only on Lissandra's side out of convenience, not out of some desire to kill everything or bring back an ancient evil.

Trundle could just as easily fit into the Winter's Claw, if such a storyline were introduced where he would defect to them.

I miss old trundle, the outcast of his tribe with a heart of gold that turned to lead when he learned his tribe's true feelings about him. Rip...
