[Order VS Chaos] Why is our in-story "allegiance" determined by our in-game choices? :/

It's sad to see that our "allegiance" for a story event is determined by our in-game actions.

I'd really like Chaos to win the event, I most often see Harmony/Order as stagnation.

But in-game? I never played Yasuo, I don't intend to, and I don't want his skin. Whereas I find Riven skin badass, and I'd really like to get it.

What one can do?...
