We got some "new" Swain lore!

"Swain is the Grand General of Noxus, visionary ruler of an expansionist nation that reveres only strength. Though he was cast down and crippled in the Ionian wars, he seized control of the empire with ruthless determination. In a swirl of sacrifice and secrets, the greatest secret of all is that the true enemy lies within."

I don't know if this is going to change with his VGU being so close to being released but if this is actually going to stay as his short Bio there are a few questions.

Like, "the darkness only he can see", does it refer to Mordekaiser who wants to retake Noxus' capital and bring another age of conquest to Valoran?

Also, is the true enemy that lies within a jab at them actually sitting directly on top of Mordekaiser's old vaults?

Still, I might be interpreting too much into this.

That "coming darkness" could easily be Morde, but my thoughts honestly jumped immediately to The Void.

And with it being "within"...hey, has anybody checked on just what exactly Beatrice is lately?

I am beyond aching to learn every detail about that.

On a side note:

Is strength the right word here, rather than power? Swain is not a physically strong man, and neither are the numerous mages of the Arcane Fist he patrons.

I'm pretty curious to see what said "darkness" is supposed to be. "The enemy lies within" sounds like he might be actually at odds with the black rose this time around,or the black rose is simply his source of information about this "darkness".

What I like is the fact that appearantly Swain was crippled in the ionia war and claimed the noxian throne after this,meaning that Boram was seemingly in charge of the ionia war(which is good in my opinion,otherwise Boram would come off as the "good Grand general",which would have been pretty boring)

I'm surprised there is no single hint about his magical powers.

Swain currently does not interest me, but he can with VGU. Like Urgot and Evelynn did.

The theme of sacrifice is mentioned here again which makes me believe this is referring to the new Swain post-VGU. “A darkness only he can see” — I stand by my theory that Swain has sacrificed his eyes or human eyesight in order to ‘see’ more that others cannot.

So excited for his reveal :)

Could be something with the spirit realms could it not? Since Swain supposedly has that vastayan blood infusion or something from rakan's vo. Since I'd assume noxus typical citizenship (pure human types) would be ignorant of such things, except the few in whatever area shen intervened in.

Obviously mordekaiser and or shadow isles related stuff would make sense, or even the void since it is such a strange functioning faction.

Neat none the less.

Still, I might be interpreting too much into this.

I'm not certain. Riot has been hinting at something cataclysmic on the horizon, and sadly I don't believe Mordekaiser is substantial a threat to warrant the appearance of Zoe. Toss in the Aspect's connection to the Void and the major character arcs of Kassadin and Jax searching for people to resist its arrival, and I feel that Riot is playing up the bugs. I'd prefer a more internal conflict within Noxus at risk of becoming Morde's second imperial bastion, but I just don't see it happening. We Warhammer 40K now.

This darkness he sees is this enemy that lies within Noxus. That imo could be this organization called "The Black Rose" and I think Leblanc and Elise have something to do with it. I think something like that is what I once read. So maybe this Black Rose is trying to overtake Noxus and summit it to their will.
