Galio lives off of magic. Amumu curses everyone he touches. Curses are magical. Galio feeds off of magic and is kinda immune to the effects.

amumu's magic / curse / magic curse is probably what's keeping him alive though.
I just imagined how happy Amumu would be if he ever had a friend. Amumu would go crazy and do anything to protect her/him.
