Veigar should use his gun more in his skin

Ralanr··37 votes·2,213 views

Honestly it's only used for basic attacks, something Veigar isn't going to do much. I don't mean he should use it a lot, but maybe his ult could be fired from it instead of him summoning it from his mind?

Q and R should both use gun

SzGamer2279 votes

Then his robo hand wouldn't be doing anything. Just R and AA is fine.

Ralanr1 votes

His hand casts his W.

SzGamer2273 votes

He uses the remote, and doesn't conjure it from his glove like with Q.

W and E

SzGamer2271 votes

He's using the remote to cast those spells, he's not actually conjuring them from his glove like he does with Q.

YES.

im disappointed in the lacking unique dialog. nothing he says makes remotely (lol) any sense with that skin.

teemo's was way better.

Ralanr26 votes

Teemo's was higher quality. These are not the same level.

BLACK REALM GOD5 votes

yeah, but that disappoints me. i feel like skin lines should all be the same quality.

Zombie Slayer10 votes

They can't be the same quality if they were it would mean every skin with a legendary would be one. Which means less skins and that would also mean calling in the same voice actor every couple months if its a popular champ for them to have more lines for a new skin which could be bad if the actor has a busy schedule. I would've liked to see twitch or fizz get a legendary skin though.

BLACK REALM GOD2 votes

i dont see your point. you just literally talked in circles.

"they cant be the same quality because - they cant be the same quality and voice actors are busy."

then find a new voice actor? that's how capitalism works. they can make more money on the skin by hiring a new actor that agrees to work at a cheaper price.

heck i dont have the equipment to voice act, but i'd do it for free just to put it on my resume.

Zombie Slayer2 votes

That is not how league skin team works. Sure they could hire a new actor but they want to keep the same unless they feel it necessary it give them a updated voice or the actor doesn't work or whatever happened to old Teemos voice actor. They have fan that they need to think off also giving a person a new voice can make the community mad or disappointing if its not good. They take along time to make with all the animations thats why they usually come out one at a time. And finally they are special they are meant to be something special for that champion.

i understand the need for positive PR, but when a voice actor or actress agrees to take on a roll for something like a movie or game they need to be contractually obligated to perform when necessary. so the whole bit about the actor/actress being busy to me is not a good enough excuse. if i told my boss "hey i'm too busy to come into work today" i'd be fired. i dont think we should settle into this trend of treating people like gods just because they can make sexy ahri moans or talk like morgan freemon.

as far as i'm concerned as long as the voice is similar and the emotions and persona are similar i dont care who does the voice acting. there are hundreds of youtubers that prove any average joe can do an imitation.

Ok. Let me put it this way.

You go ham on work -> Extra credit You work hard on school work -> A You make average work -> B You make sub par work -> C Basically a rewrite of another persons work ->D

Now apply this to skins.

Skins with VO, model changes, particles -> extra credit / ultimate

Skins with VO and particles -> A you have legendaries

Skins that are average -> epics

Skins that are sub par- 950/750 rp

Skins that are rewrites -> 390/520 rp

Not everything is going to be on the same level.

And while anyone can do a V.O. it's like saying, The essay I'm writing didn't REQUIRE me to use pen, but everyone prefers it. I could use a pencil but it lowers the overall quality. And whilst you might not care, others might.

You can't make everything an A because it would overwork the student, or company.

*Edit

Also most V.A. are like movie actors, you hire them for like a week, they finish and then leave. It's not a constant job that you or others might have.

BLACK REALM GOD2 votes

that's actually not true. franchises hire through contracts so that they can continue to have the same actor fill the same spot further down the road. movies are especially restrictive when hosting sequels and other such spin offs. could you imagine the disappointment if robert downey jr wasnt ironman for the avengers and the ironman sequels? the bottom line is that it wouldnt be that big of a deal, but because he fills the role the way he does it's just better to keep the same actor, but if robert refuses to work he loses his spot and is replaced. that's how it goes. voice actors shouldnt be treated any differently. that's not the movie companies fault it's the actor's fault for backing out of a contract.

what you're talking about is temporary voice acting - which is more or less something that only applies to commercials and presentations and amateurs.

Read anything else there?

Sukishoo1 votes

His last skin was a Legendary, so there was no way he was going to get another one.

SpyKayle1 votes

His last skin was over two years ago. Almost 3 years. However I agree there is no way he would be getting a second one. That would be strange. Only say 3 champs have two. Tristana, Corki, and Cho'Gath. Still would be rather cool if he said a few unique things. Some skins sneak those in there.

BLACK REALM GOD3 votes

you mean final boss veigar? so you're telling me that the rationale behind not making the skin line all legendaries is because veigar already had a legendary? that makes literally no sense.

the only difference between a legendary skin and an epic skin is -

1350 RP - Epic skins

Features: new model, new texture, new splash image, new animations, new visual effects, new sounds.
Sometimes includes: processed voice overs.
Examples: Blackthorn Morgana, Arcade Sona.

1820 RP - Legendary skins

A legendary skin completely changes the look and feel of a champion.
Features: new model, new texture, new splash image, new animations, new visuals, **new voice over** and sounds.
Examples: Battlecast Prime Cho'Gath, Brolaf.

for the cost of 470 RP extra. that's 3.6 dollars roughly. so for the additional cost of 3.6 dollars per skin sale they couldnt make a skin legendary by having the voice actor/actress send in a digital recording of a script, edit that script and redo the lines that are sub par then repeat until good enough all because veigar had a skin already.

if anything it's due to the yordles used for this skin line are all sub 6% pick rate except twitch who got a complete rework overhaul on his skin. they didnt want to invest the time money and effort into making a legendary skin that wouldnt sell.

Sukishoo2 votes

that makes literally no sense.

Not really. Anymore champions generally only have 1 legendary or ultimate skin. That doesn't include the old outdated Legendaries like Firefighter Trist as she got an updated Legendary, Dragon Trainer. But no champion has 2 or more that actually hold the same standards for said upper Tiers.

for the cost of 470 RP extra. that's 3.6 dollars roughly. so for the additional cost of 3.6 dollars per skin sale they **couldn't **make a skin legendary by having the voice actor/actress send in a digital recording of a script, edit that script and redo the lines that are sub par then repeat until good enough all because veigar had a skin already.

They have to actually have their narrative team make the scripts which requires them to have the time, they didn't plan on making these legendary so they didn't have those resources available. Then the voice actor would need to be available to be brought into the studio, they don't do that elsewhere for a game like this.

Plus, as I said before he last had a Legendary so there was little to no way they were going to make another one as two back to back (albeit years apart) never happens. And you even said they have little play rate which also goes into some of their decisions on what to make, so the 1350 is fine here.

Overall I feel like his ult makes no sense. He just fires it from.....somewhere...

Ralanr2 votes

Yeah. It's the worst part about this skin.

FilDaFunk2 votes

TBH, his ultimate is a bit disappointing (looks like his q, sounds like his w). It should be fired from his gun, but have more of a laser gun sound.

4th3t0s2 votes

Why is his ult not a small tactical nuke? Huge missed opportunity; hope they change that while it's on PBE

Edit: Holy shit that Metal Gear reference, can't believe I missed that

Edit 2: Random idea, why not make the rocket launcher from his recall be his ult? The assets are already there, and would add a bit of substance to the overall theme.

Siegfriedx11 votes

Really bad skin. Gun is there for nothing

Fairyfleur1 votes

What I had in mind was pulling out a larger button and summoning a giant nuke. Afterwards, it creates a mushroom shaped smoke cloud.

Sasogwa1 votes

I personnally am super hyped by this skin and find it absolutely awesome ! Slightly disappointed by ult not looking very impressive and voice lines the same, but I don't really care and the "speaks on radio" effect is really good

Lμcíd1 votes

Here is my stance on his ult animation, upvote my thread so riot can see it. https://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/story-art/tyE6k9hf-omega-squad-veigars-ult-and-possibly-q

The R should come out of his gun even if they don't change the projectile itself. The way it is now is just so underwhelming for how cool the skin is. Ill definitely buy it if they make the ult come out of the gun.

Aamano1 votes

yes yes absolutely i thought his ult came from his gun but its some weird head...telekinesis...thing

thought honestly id be perfectly fine waiting for a model update

Euthenaasia1 votes

The Q and R should both be from his gun. It actually makes even less sense that he conjures his R from his hand while the remote is in it. Actually it kinda just vanishes. The R i'm not even going to talk about because that doesn't make a lick of sense. I'm just going to assume that Veigar being on the Omega Squad was an afterthought and they did it very quickly to make some extra money because the difference in quality with the rest is inexcusable.

Blakiepug1 votes

I really like his current ult animation with the > < on his face.

That's it, I'm going full AS veigar.

ADC Veigar!

Yuumi and Fish1 votes

As much as I love the Omega Squad Veigar skin, I just wanted to give some feedback on it. 1) In its current iteration, I find it hard to distinguish between Baleful Strike (Q) and Primordial Burst (R). The simple change between shapes of the particles isn't enough to tell me at a glance what ability was used. 2) When I first saw the skin there were 3 things that stood out to me, his eyes/ears, his glove, and his gun. I feel like his gun isn't utilized as much as it could be within the theme of the skin. I love the idea of him using it as a weapon, but only using the gun with his auto attacks seems like a big missed opportunity.

If the skin were to be changed to have his ultimate be fired from the gun with a different particle effect from both his Q and his auto attacks, that would address both the issues I feel the skin has.
