Teemos Mushrooms and Twitch

So one thing that struck me as really odd was that Legends of Runeterra actually included Teemo in the "Piltover/Zaun" faction, which felt really weird(and to be honest makes me wonder if we'll ever get a Bandle city faction, I mean there are barely any Bandle Yordles left T_T), but then I looked at some of the Mushroom-related cards and noticed something: https://cdn1.sixmorevodka.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/08000456/MEANDERING-WHUMPS.jpg?webp=0 https://cdn1.sixmorevodka.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/08000451/WHUMP-MATRIARCH.jpg?webp=0 https://cdn-lor.mobalytics.gg/latest/images/set1/en_us/img/card/game/01PZ010.png

Almost all the cards that feature these mushrooms depict them as growing in the sewers of Zaun and how they get used by animals/animal-people. The sole exceptions are the cards of Teemo himself(who finds a mushroom in a forest) and the Mushroom Peddler(who simply sells the mushroom to someone).

So does this mean that Teemos lore will connect to Zaun? Are there more sentient mutated animals other than Twitch? Is there some sort of underground trade with these mushrooms going on? Are Twitch and Teemo gonna be rivals now?

Would really like to know what you guys think about this.

Im 100% sure that they only included Teemo in Zaun because they needed to add Teemo in the game because he is one of the most well known characters of the game and Bandle City/Kumungu is not part of the game... yet.

Seriously, he looks so out of place in comparison with other Zaunites/Pilties... including other yordles.

i think the peddler is a pretty important card in this case.

They're quite clearly drugs, this wouldn't be the first time zaun has had mention of drugs either (shimmer) nor would this be the first time that hallucinogenic mushrooms are mentionned in the lore (kled). now i might be wrong on this but afaik when eating shrooms or truffles irl the trip is pretty much just you poisoning yourself lightly with the mushroom.

So as i expect these to be the same mushrooms i think it's safe to say teemo overdoses people. And if there's any place drugs are gonna be used it's most likely Zaun, and as they are connected piltover where i expect them to be less legal obviously.

while there's most likely more mutated animals, i doubt these are actually mutated. they just seem like zaunite raccoons tbh. although the big guy seems a bit rat like so twitch might have a whole network of goons working under him.

Not gonna lie, I'd be down with a secret Yordle Underground society in Zaun.

Wait wait wait... it seems like that rat dude.. is actually a Yordle, based on what he says when you summon him in the game.

"Do i still look like a Yordle in uniform?"

either that, or people tells him that he looks like a yordle even when he is not wearing a uniform

I don't think Teemo belongs in Zaun or will be associated in Zaun in any other way besides his poison (Which he used to get from Kumungu anyways in the old lore so it's nbd)

This is just a case of Riot trying to get a more marketable champion into the game. Teemo is one of the faces of League of Legends: One of the big six

The Big Six (Ahri Ezreal Ryze Lux Teemo Jinx )

If you look at League of Legends marketing materials ALMOST NONE do not feature at least one champion from this list. Rather than having Jinx and some other champion that new players to the game won't recognize

New Player: who the f are these guys??? (Urgot Zac Singed Twitch )

tl;dr : They shoehorned Teemo in Zaun for mass market appeal on the games' launch.

tbh I know next to nothing about the lore of teemo and twitch, besides teemo being able to go from happy to a cold-blooded killer, but the idea of these toxic shrooms being grown underground in Zaun isn't surprising. It's right under piltover which is known for exploration & inventions. So the idea that somehow they got ahold of a teemo shroom and started to mass-produce them is something I can see happening. It's also unknown if these card pictures are canon or not, who knows riot likes to hide hints to lore in different places.

Not to mention. you asked if there was anymore mutated animals, pretty sure the cat/rat or whatever in that splash is mutated in some way or another.
