So now we know why the shadow techniques are considered evil

So one thing that always bothered me about Zeds lore is that it never explained why the shadow techniques were considered evil. I mean what is so bad about making shadow clones?It really looked like they were just considered evil for the sake of drama.

However in the lores of Rakan and Xayah they fight against a bunch of guys who use "shadow magic" and while Zeds abilities were never described as magic,I am pretty sure that this shadow magic is actually the same thing as the techniques from the box. Sure none of these shadow-guys used clone-techniques,but I actually doubt that the shadow clones are the core of the shadow techniques.They are most likely a more advanced technique.

So if these clones aren't the core of the shadow techniques,then what is it? Well there is this one dude in Xayahs colour story,who enslaves his enemies souls/steals their essence in his sword to make himself stronger. And that is likely the core of the shadow techniques.The ability to steal the essence of your fallen enemies to increase your own abilities. Why am I so sure that this? Because Zed got the same ability a few months ago during the assassin rework,as he now steals a part of the AD of his victims. And that would explain why the shadow arts are considered evil,as they encourage you to kill others for your own gain.

Its actually not that its low key racism. Shadows are black. Black people are too. The lore is obviously telling you that Furrys wich stop being autistic and get a life( Ahri) are bad and that Shadow users need to hurt others to gain something (refering to black crime and violence ). Its all a plot from Riot to segregate us. Honestly, let's be real even if they give us a reason it's still just for the sake of plot. and that's ok.

Just the Ninja fighting the forbidden technique using ninja is such a cliché at this point. But that doesn't mean it's a bad thing.

My biggest concern with the new cinematic is just WHERE THE FUCK IS SHEN.

I like how riot teases lore from gameplay. They also do the opposite. It is cool, interesting and exciting. I hope they keep that.

Doesn't Ahri steal essence as well?

Besides, Zed hasn't killed innocent civilians, Sure the method does seem dark to increase his power but it depends on whom Zed kills.

Also, in the new cinematic, it looks like it kills lifeforce around, even that of a nature. I must say, though, that I don't like how much this "borrows" from Fel from WarCraft. I know it's vague concept, but still it bothers me. But at least it has some deep now.

The new champion teaser for them seems to suggest that the shadow techniques may in some way steal the local magic of the area with those little blue things which seem to power the magic of the forest were absorbed by Zed's techniques.

I think even Xayah/Rakan have some in-game taunts specifically for Zed that mention how he has once visited them, only to leave a very negative impression. Still haven't read their lore, i definitely should BUT when they come out :)

I wonder if its even just the shadow technique though? What if energy by default drains magic from the person's surroundings instead of being pulled from an object or themselves and shadow techniques are bad because they do the same but take ALL of it.

But in all seriusness you are a mastermind! I never thought about the conection between Zeds ult ad stealing and that! That is really neet! I wonder if they planned it back in the assassin update it if they aded it because it fitted in to his new gameplay.

That ain't no dark shadow-y magic that's basic exp gain, right there.

Now would I level up if I cast Meteor Swarm on the bandit camp or do the hostages count as negative exp?
