Mordes new story actually explains why Beatrice was in the immortal Bastion

It always striked me as odd that Beatrice was appearantly just hanging out in Noxus and the immortal Bastion with no explanation what she was doing there.

However with Mordes new lore it actually makes a lot of sense for Beatrice to be locked up in the immortal bastion, as Beatrice is a demon of secrets and Mordekaisers big goal is to uncover the secrets of death, so he was likely the one who brought Beatrice to the immortal bastion, hoping that he could use her to gain information about the afterlife and once Morde died again Beatrice simply remained in the immortal bastion(either on her own or she was locked up and couldn't get out).

We kinda already knew that.

Swain found Beatrice in the immortal bastion, and that the immortal bastion was erected by Mordekaiser. Even without explicitly knowing about the iron revenant's search for secrets, we could theorize that he put her there and that she was there for a reason.

What it truly is interesting is what Beatrice actually knows for her to be that valuable and powerful.

In order to retrieve her, Swain journeyed to the core of the Immortal Bastion. This is apparently described as a very risky and secretive task.

I highly doubt that this perilous trip consisted in Swain physically finding a secret passage in the basement of the palace and proceeding to avoid a number of traps ala Indiana Jones.

What if at the core of the immortal bastion there were the gateway for mordekaiser's kingdom of afterlife? And Swain literally walked unnoticed among the dead to steal Beatrice directly from Mordekaiser's grasp? We know Beatrice whispered to a death's door Swain through a crow and proposed him some sort of deal, that I am going to assume included Swain "freeing" her from Mordekaiser servitude. But Swain somehow tricked her in his own servitude. This would also explain Beatrice's powers of gathering the secrets of the recently passed away. She could have some sort of connection with the afterlife realm, so that she could talk to souls in the limbo before they faded as described in mordekaiser new story.

There is something that is confusing me.

In his new lore.... does Mordekaiser still have any connection to the Shadow Isles, or doesn't he? In Universe, he is still listed as a Shadow Isles champion, but these are never mentioned in his new lore now. And I remember a Rioter saying that he is unrelated to the Mist.

But if Mordekaiser has no ties to the Shadow Isles anymore.... why did they colour code him that way? Just like how they gave Urgot alot of green details with his rework to emphasise his relation to Zaun now, Mordekaiser is way more in line with other Shadow Isles undeads when it comes to his colours.

This is confusing me, someone help pls.

Hey, I'm not in the topic. Who is Beatrice?

So two reworks are in it? That explains my heightened levels of disgust.

Where is the story? Can't find it on the universe page.

Or are you referring to his new Bio?
