Question about Leona and Diana

Are we gonna rerewrite their lore? As a lore lover, I loved the recent addition of lore, but the Mount Targon lores were.. Mixed. The new lore mischaracterized Leona hardcore and took away a core part of her story, and Diana feels also mischaracterized but not as bad. Plus, the whole "climbed to the top of the mountain" gave their story a big ol' deus ex machina, which I feel is a super cheap way to solve Leona and Diana's' conflict.

I mean, Diana still doesn't like Leona. But also, it's annoying to me that everyone expects these sections to have characters that match exactly to how they used to be. Leona has character depth now, as she has been redeemed from the cult. Diana did something bad and has to suffer the consequences for it. Characters need depth and conflict, otherwise they're as flavorful as plain white bread. Taric... Taric's got nothing bad, actually. He messed up, but that also gave him star powers. And who doesn't want star powers.

I definitely want Diana to be a tragic villain again, but I doubt they'll be doing any rewrite in the forseeable future. There's so many other lores to go through as is.

After the orIginal Targon rewrite there was a lot of hullabaloo about them. There were many people who completely hated them, myself included. Riot's response was largely "Oh well." A bit more tactfully of course, usually saying something about how they hoped we would enjoy their other stories.

So I doubt there will be any rewrite. And that's their right of course, it's their story. Even if I think it sucked.

There will probably be further development, maybe to try and get the characters more in line with their older personality (Hell Leona theoretically could just be written like old Leona out the bat just explaining it away as the effect of her possession by the alien bodysnatcher. We can all just pretend she didn't go through an executioner phase.

But the core problem: that the stories revolve around a space empire, aliens, and characters that no one who liked the old lore has any concept of or care for that take the agency from the characters in some way will remain. There's too much invested in it already, with the release of Sol and all.

The Targon lore is fine as it is and set itself apart from becoming redundant battle stories that could easily be Demacia's or Noxus' lore. We now have a story of people of Roman crafts (don't assume just because they live technically in space that they have to be high tech) sustaining a magical inter-galatic empire.

Yes, the characters are different, Pantheon more so than others, but I still appreciate that he brings to the table the same badassary in physical combat, even if it is no longer from a human perspective. He had his human saga as Atreus, time to move on. We already have 3 other human aspects, also, being the aspect in command of your empire's greatest weapon (yet revealed) is a big deal. He now holds, significant importance to Targon's lore unlike b4 where he simply was a third party/Leona's bff.

Also, Leona did not become Shaco and Idk why ppl at like she did: a) she killed some invading barbarians that slaughtered countless of her tribe. b) she is a natural bred warrior from the Rakkor. She simply shifted from only protecting, to actively defending. In other words her lore is a better representstion of how she is actually played in game. She isn't Braum, but neither is she some assassin out for your life.
