@Riot: On Battlecast Illaoi Cleavage and Clothing

OK, I'm trying terribly hard to not fall down into hyperbole, I really want to have a discussion here, not just a rant.

But please, remove that tank top and that cleavage. Illaoi is one of the few female champs that own their sexuality, she openly talks about it, she's not ashamed, and most importantly, she's not objectified. And I'm certain that was a very conscious decision by her designers.

So why the heck her first Skin in forever has to show so much skin? (No pun intended.) Why all your strong female champs who are so awesome in their classic Skin are inevitably unclothed for their alternate fantasies? Unmasked Kayle, Valkyrie Leona and Diana, Infernal Diana with the boobplate and Lunar Godess Diana with the flimsy silk. I hope you see how that trend can look worrying from the outside.

I love how Riot has progressed so much from the early days on the topic of female representation, but I very sadly feel that the Skin department is lagging behind. I don't know why, I don't even know if that's actually true, but that's how it feels. Please show as much consideration for your champs in their Skin as you do in their canon lore.

Then why is it impossible to imagine that she'd show off some skin when she feels like it? Power Girl's "boob window" is considered one of the most forward and assertive aspects of her character design, even praised by Tim Gunn when he was asked to critique a number of superhero costumes.

But aside from that, the simple fact is that this is the design that was voted on meaning that the final skin has to be true to that design for better or worse. Some people voted specifically for the cleavage, many more considered it a positive that finalized their decision. To change that ruins the integrity of the vote. If they were to change this I would demand a completely new vote because I think odds are pretty good it wouldn't have won without that aspect.

There are ZERO 'sexy' or 'cute' skins in the game for muscular female champions as of this post. Poro Rider and Dawnbringer Sejuani both dramatically tone down Sejuani's fitness to give her an extremely skinny look, and all the other female characters thought of as 'strong' are strong either in the metaphorical sense or the superhero sense where it isn't actually attached to their physical appearance.

Honestly I was expecting her to be a machine... It is a battlecast skin after all, right? I'm less upset that human Illaoi has cleavage showing and more that she's not a giant robot.

Her ''sexuality'' in the Battlecast skin is the main reason why she won against the other 2 skins that made her look ugly, the only outdated person here is you since the majority cast their votes on that skin. And you must feel very uncomfortable with how you look yourself for thinking that even this is sexualized.

I think the only issue with her showing her stomach and skin is the fact it's literally in one of the most nonsense spots to be showing skin and having your body exposed as a warrior/fighter. Like yeah it's sexy but she has more armor on her thighs than she does her stomach where her vital organs are. That makes no sense to me.

Nah. Why exclude Illaoi from it? Because shes not 36-22-36 like MF? Nah, let her be sexual ((even though a tank top and normal cleavage is hardly that, its mundane)). Don't desexualize women that aren't "conventionally attractive". She has her femininity.
