@Riot, Please listen to the lore fans and revert Shyvana

We don't need another Zac situation. Please just revert the lore. I know it sucks to have whatever plans you have scrapped, but Shyvana's lore is clearly beloved and adds a lot to what was prior a shallow character. There's no reason to alienate the majority, and we'd all really appreciate your hard work even more if you were to cave in. I know it sucks, but we'd all really appreciate it. The lore update is overall excellent. It doesn't need an unnecessary stain. Please. Just this once.

I'm usually never one to call out for a 'revert' or general edit to a new Champion's lore, but Shyvana's is a whole other case in general. Because of some issues internally with Riot's narrative team, there was a huge disconnect between what we the players read, versus what Riot were keeping as Shyvana's 'canon.'

Because of this mistake, I feel like Riot should at the very least just own up to the fact that a mistake was made, just to clear out some confusion. Along with that, if possible (and I know this sounds selfish) we deserve to get SOME edits to the lore, considering that they had established a canon for us that we've been connected to and completely changed it purely due to communication errors. I'm not, of course, making a call to FORCE Riot to rewrite Shyvana's lore to fit more with our previous iteration, but I personally feel like, considering the circumstances, it would be the right thing to do.

This change is so absurd I'm getting the feeling that they no longer know what they want to do.

I think its appropriate that people here are deeply confused by these unexpected developments to Shyv's lore.

But I've seen people claim its "change for sake of change" and I think these people are deeply ignorant. Reality is we all lack the complete understanding of what's being set up here, and what's being reconnected so that we can have a cemented and cohesive canon. And we know from other stories being enhanced (Lux & Jarvan, hell even Morde's upcoming lore will need similar changes) to make way for new developments, modifying things so that all the stories can mesh with lore that has and hasn't quite been released to players yet.

I hope this community is reasonable enough to not back this thread. At least until we get a better comprehension on what's really happening/being set up.

I kinda fear that Riot might have already some plans for Shyvanas lore progression that'd be incompatible with her old lore.

Like what if Riot has planned for Shyvana to meet her dragon-dad eventually? That'd be impossible in the old one.

Or maybe they plan to reveal that Yvva was actually not trying to kill her, but merely to find her only for Shyvana to kill her out of a misunderstanding(and for revenge).

Those plot points couldn't be done with her old lore(granted the one with the father could be semi recreated with the wizard who caused her transformation), so if Riot changes the lore back now they might have to scrap a ton of work.

I mean I prefer the old lore too, so hopefully I am wrong about this.

It’s more feasible, since she didn’t get an animated music video and comic to go with her lore change (forgive me if I haven’t read it, just going by what I’ve seen here).

However, it’s likely Riot has something up their sleeve and so they won’t change it. My condolences.

I was thinking this more of a Varus situation but Zac now that I look back also comes to mind.

But yeah, I would rather have her lore reverted or looked at and revised again for a compensation, similar to Varus.
