@Riot: No Ultimate Skin This Year?

So, it’s December 28th. Guess we can assume there’s no ultimate skin coming out this year. Just wanted to know if there was a particular reason why there wasn’t one this year.

Can we expect one early on next year, maybe? Or at all?

Looked through the boards and couldn’t find a topic related to this already.

If we do get a new ultimate skin next year, who do you guys think will get it? Who would you like to have it? Have ideas for ultimate skins? I’d like to know! :D

Yeah & there wasn't one in 2014 either. No one said anything about Ultimate skins being a yearly thing. They'll be out when they're ready.

For some reason, I had it in my head that it was once a year. Then again, _I’ve only been playing League for about a year or so. _^^ So it’s apparent I wasn’t 110% sure on the timelines of everything.

Thank you for bringing that to my attention!

I think it's about a year and a half gap (not an expert, but based on when Sona and Lux skins came out, that was about 1 1/2 years). So probably sometime in the spring or summer next year, I hope!

Based on the release dates of the past skins, it seems that they are roughly between 1-1.5 years between, but it seems to be getting longer with each new release. The release between DJ Sona and Elemantalist Lux was the longest at about 1.75 years. Also, there was no ultimate skin released in 2014 either, since Udyr was summer of 2013 and Sona was winter 2015.

They really need to make ultimate skins a yearly thing. Even then, most champs would never see one, which just feels bad.

But the quality would be lower because they rushed the skin.I prefer riot to take their time and give us a good quality skin instead of few skins with lower quality

I'd prefer that more people have the potential for the champ they like to have an ultimate skin, rather than only whatever champ happens to arbitrarily be at the top of the meta for that particular point in time getting one. It's no fun seeing the same champs getting everything, with most of the roster getting nothing.

But there are still Legendary skins & those come out at a much faster rate than Ultimates. Legendary skins should be good enough for most champs who don't get an ultimate.

Ultimate Skins don't have the same value anymore since normal skins are higher quality than what they used to be, in the past the normal skins were just recolors mostly so the ultimate skins were needed more
