Riot, what's holding up the next video?

Seriously guys, it's been nearly 2 years since you released A New Dawn (released 22 July 2014). I think the Institute of War was still part of canon back then! What's the holdup with the next video? We love those more than almost anything else associated with the game! They're among the best videos any game has ever had!

Show us your next work, please!

I love long-ish cinematics like A Twist of Fate or A New Dawn, but there have been recent talks (involving Rioters) about how promotional animation and teaser videos have been somewhat of a replacement, some of which is actually canon; Content like PROJECT: OVERDRIVE, Dark Star: Nothing Escapes, Mind of the Virtuoso, Taliyah: Homecoming, etc.

And I must admit, I really like those kind of animation videos too. Aurelion Sol: The Star Forger Returns got me super hyped for his reveal and eventually his release and I'm still in love with Tahm Kench's The River King.

Right- let me tell you as an animator- that shit takes forever. Back in college during the level 2 class- you're given the entire semester to make a project- set up deadlines- and try to work on it. Nobody, and I include the team of 2 guys in that as opposed to all of the 1-person teams, could make much more than a 20 second animation with a character in it.

16 weeks- of nonstop work- and all of us could barely manage to make one (not nearly as advanced) character and a short walking cycle or other simplified movement at best. Actually here- I can show you the level of character detail we could come up with. See the mighty trooper That's a model with a very crude rig and no facial rig at all.

Now compare that to the New Dawn models- it probably takes longer 16 weeks just to make one character model with complete armor and weapons. Then you have to rig them, animate them, add sound- and effects- the list goes on and on. Animating is not a short process and never has been.

I'm goiing to agree and upvote but not because I'm overly fond of these videos.

It simply seems to be a great business solution. No better way to advertise your game and Riot is missing out on a lot of interest by not making more.

1). Time constraints. 2). Time constraints. 3). Time constraints.

Also, they have been showing us their work. Every single champion in the past year has had very detailed and lore filled animations to go along with their release. So I mean... yeah...

Riot said that all the new stuff they have been doing, like the teasers for AurelionSol, Jhin and Ekko, have made it really hard for them to attempt to make another "New Dawn" like video (also want to point out it was made after the retcon). Another Rioter mentioned they want to avoid making videos where random champs are fighting each other for seemingly no reason lore wise (like with Ahri, Leona,Graves, Rengar, Jax vs Darius, Draven, Nautilus, Zyra, Katarina).
