Another example but holy cow, it's depressing to look at how this game has evolved for the worse visually since then. Of course the gameplay has only gotten better, but you have to admit firsthand after looking at these initial trailers that the game has long lost its artistic charm.
The old color palette and design was absolute crap. Straining to look at, too high contrast, excessively busy and unfocused in it's style, overall low quality textures, and very poor champion designs visually. Everything about LoL's visuals at release was amateur and low cost, but today they are among the best.
The new terrain and palette is gorgeous. I probably never would have wanted to play this game if it looked like the old version.
I am shocked that anyone has poor enough taste to actually think the old version was in any way superior. It's like someone telling you they prefer the food at McDonalds to a Michelin three star restaurant.
The overwhelming majority if the community seems to disagree on this.
Plus I'm now reminded how Jax still has his original model, and it needs a desperate visual update.
No it bloody didn't I've been playing since 2010, the models were ugly looking, everything moved slower and awkwardly, and the visual effects were cheesy and cheap looking. Don't even get me started on the splash arts, which was just the model superimposed over a colored background.

I get what you're saying, the colors are loud and pop and it does have this certain charm the current rift seems to lack. It comes off a lot less serious than how LoL is currently portrayed.
But the current SR is also really beautiful, isn't messy, and is very easy on the eyes in terms of color palette and brightness.

What do you mean? I don't see how it's better than current graphics? Can you explain the points you like about the old ones?
