Seriously, her family's responsible for the Brackern Genocide, which makes me dislike her even more than before >_>

I personally don't like her character very much either, she has no personal goals or purpose or life beyond simply being in servitude to her family. She's simply a machine in all aspects but without any ambition to call her own.

Well what irks me is that she has no personal stake in anything that she is doing, she just simply is serving a family that she knows will probably backstab her in the end because 'family'. Garen is a more in depth character in the sense that he has ideals(Honour, justice etc) and personal ambition (Katarina).

If you read fully her color text

She sacrificed a great deal.

Her heart (love) Her humanity Her youth.

Because to sacrifice yourself for the family is a legit thing. It wasn't just a thing for her. She had 6 other simblings. The only two that became adults were her and Stevan.

The others sacrificed themselves for the family. She lost it all because she was lied to and betrayed by her selfish brother. She wanted to escape her family, but her brother used her regrets. Her sense of failure and her own self-blame for her father's death.

What you see at current is her after several years of having to force herself to be a cold hearted machine. She was warmblooded.

And, at the end of the color text, she was going to let the nephew of her old love go (when she should have killed him as requested). Why? Because she still cared. Reminiscing honestly hurt her. While I have no love for the person she has become, I feel a deep sorrow for the lost of the person she once was.

I've fully read her colour text as I have every single piece of lore that I could find since I began playing, and her character just doesn't seem justified in any meaningful way, her lack of ambition, selflessness and total dedication to family just seem tacked on as the family itself doesn't really have any redeemable qualities or couldn't give a reason other than she blames herself. In the end she has no goals, nothing to really achieve and no means or reason to ever change.

Honestly, I think it's becaused she was RAISED in it. Her family never put her down when she was young. It was prestige honor and most of all, pride. When you read, she was the most glamorous of her siblings and kept getting accolades. She had no reason to turn her back on her family other than Hakim.

And you read of her struggle with her family vs Hakim, and she was actually gonna go with him! But here lies the problem. She was traumatized. She should have protected her father, but failed to do so. Then here comes her brother who plucked at those same heart strings and tore her away from the man she loved. She was scared. Frightened. Feared what would happen to her kin if she was to leave. She didn't want to fail her brother like she did her father.

After that, she went fully with the surgery. She lost what made her the most happy to prevent what she most feared. Even when she learned of her brother's trickery, she was scared of losing the one person who remembered who she was before the augmentations. Then slowly, she grew cold.

That was her main story transformation. As of right now, her evolution has reached near its end. In other words, she probably won't change into a completely different person right now. Just like Ivern who has already went through his struggle. He is near the end of his journey. As of right now, Camille may just have to find a new one.

This is exactly why I intend to main her. Literally this. This will make me abandon Evelynn whom I have mained for nearly 7 years. But the above quoted means Camille forever onward.

To be fair it was her ancestors who defiled the Brackern, not Camille herself.

That being said I thought Camille was an arse from the beginning.

DEATH TO THOSE WHO WOULD DEFILE THE LIFESTONES. A HUNDRED LIVES FOR EVERY SHATTERED BRACKERN.

On a semi-related note I'm now wondering if Jayce's new lore will involve him communing with a life stone, since I wouldn't be surprised if the Piltovians didn't know that the Brackern were sentient.

Probably. It may make Jayce seem like a nut job/hippie to the rest of the scientific community since he'll probably try to argue for alternative energy sources that do not require the life of another being.

Going along that thought process, perhaps his hammer is still step in that direction? Powered by some mercurial solution of sorts? I can see it.

And hey, it could also involve him with Zaunite as he could be advocating for cleaning the Grey and using not so harmful methods to fuel hextech.

This would effectively turn him into more of a heavily political character than a straight up superhero that Riot seems to play him up as. Honestly I think it would fit better, mainly because I don't see Jayce as the kind of guy to go out on patrol.

Jayce always gave off a "for the people" vibe, and considering Piltover and Zaun are the most modern Runeterran civilisations it'does make sense for a more modern hero you be more embroiled in the political and economic machine.

I'm convinced that they aren't the first to utilize the brackern gems, but did find a incredibly powerful use for them.

Speaking of the Brackern. Jayce's friendship with Skarner makes complete sense now. He's probably going to start fighting against the use of those crystals and advocate alternative energy sou- OH MY GOD IT IS AN OIL/COAL ALLEGORY.

Ok more Whale oil, but still. Edit: read her Bio. I guess her family is responsible (and it gives details on the time difference between color text since it describes the events that happened in Skarners. Very interesting).

Here's a thought; the arcane crystal Viktor and Jayce fought over was probably a life stone.

The implications there are scary. And very saddening.

Or perhaps it was an artificial hex-core. According to Camille's story, Brackern lifestones aren't common, but are well known, with imitations manufactured which are of lesser quality but functionally identical. What if both Jayce and Viktor are attempting to find an alternative energy source and the hex-core they fight over is representative of that solution, a unique creation that defies previous incarnations by being artificial and equal to original lifestones?

On Jayce's part, he is trying to prevent the needless genocide of the Brackern. On Viktor's part, he wants to free current inventions from their reliance on lifestones. Similar methods, different goals, same effect; Jayce's motivations are out of sympathy and Viktor's are based on practicality.
