What kind of story do you think a Slaver Champion could have?

This is not to suggest a concept itself, but to suggest the idea that Slavery be a tad more prevalent in League's lore besides just Xerath's background. Empires have been built upon the backs of slaves (just ask Azir), and with Runeterra being such a dangerous world, it's reasonable to assume that in the current era, slavery isn't abolished everywhere. Demacia, Piltover, Ionia, etc., probably outlaw it entirely, but Noxus, Zaun, and some pockets of Shurima probably have slaves.

And then there are those who oppress and force submission from said slaves: the slavers. Some of them do it for profit, others for power, and some just out of sheer cruelty. I'd love to see a Champion who takes all that and just rolls with it.

And to make it more interesting, what if said "Overlord Slaver" was a Darkin?

Last of all, we'd have an excuse for a whip-user. XD

Think we could get good story mileage out of this?

The question would be: Which kind of nation uses slaves? Honestly I think Noxus could have been a country that uses slaves,I mean they did capture people to let them fight to the death for fun,so its not like slave labor would be so out of place.(Though Riot wants to move a bit away from the "noxians are the bad guys" a bit,so I dunno if they'd go that far)

Aside from those I guess the frostguard would use slaves, but they are currently busy pretending to be good,so I doubt that they do it currently.

"X is a Darkin" doesn't mean anything until we know what a Darkin is.

That being said, the problem with adding slavers directly and focally in your story is: things get really dark really fast. Granted, they're kind of already here, but if you make a slaver champion, what does that imply about any fanbase he gets?

It depends largely on what kind of slaver you're talking about.

Are they an asshole who kidnaps people from other nation-states as sells them?

Do they sell prisoners of war for gladiatorial/civil uses?

Are they one of the super-creepy pimp-slavers who only take women captive and kill everyone else?

Also, given how easy it is to make robot-slaves (see: Jinx' music video) it may very well be more cost effective in Runeterra to just buy a Zaun or Piltover made robo-slave than it would be to feed, house, and care for living slaves. The biggest foe to slavery is the creation of machines that do the jobs faster and for less cost.
