@Riot- I just read Ekko's lore
I'm sorry. I really love League's lore, but how have you let it get to this level? Ekko's lore tells nothing new. it doesn't build the world in the slightest. It doesn't even give us any information we couldn't have gotten from the cinematic or the comic other than he built the time machine himself.
To any Riot employees who read this, I want you to go back and look at some of the old lore. Go look at Orianna's, or Sona's, or Ahri's lore, and then come back and look at Ekko's lore. There is no comparison. Even in shortened form, they are vastly more interesting.
Orianna: A girl who wanted to become a champion in the league of legends is killed in a training accident. Her father, a Piltovian inventor, goes mad with grief, and builds Orianna, modeled after her in her ballet dress, a favorite past-time of hers, to fight in the Rift in her place.
Sona: Mute orphan who is found with a strange instument which keeps returning to her, despite being sold time and time again. A wealthy Woman ends up adopting Sona, who grows into a famous performer using her instrument, However, she begins to experiment with using her control of sound in combat, and fights on the rift to explore this outlet. At some point her instrument autonomously kills her adopted mother, for unknown reasons.
Ahri: fox discovers a battlefield littered in dying warriors. she absorbs the essences of a mage, becoming human in looks, but keeping her feral instincts. she begins to "hunt" people by seducing them, and kills them to keep becoming more human, but as she becomes human, she gets a conscience, and goes to the league of legends to find a way to become human without killing people.
Now let's look at Ekko's lore:
Ekko: Boy from Zaun who invented a time machine. He uses it to protect his friends. His parents are confirmed to be alive but apparently allow their child to run around the streets and fight hextech-infused goons. He doesn't like piltover or the famous scientists of Zaun, and wants to change Zaun. Used to be in a child gang with Jinx and Vi.
They flat-out don't compare. You must care about lore like we do, or you wouldn't do it for a living, so why has the quality dropped so low? You are shipping a practically unfinished product! The examples above are just some of my favorites, but you can look at most of them and get similar stories. Why are you not making stories like those above anymore?
