Evelynn killed Vayne's parents. But why did she do it? (feat. Reav3 being a tease)

Considering Evelynn is an assassin for hire, I initially assumed someone paid her to do it. Possibilites were numerous, since Vayne's family used to be influential and travel a lot, they may have attracted a curse or an enemy or two along the way. It's also worth noting that they were likely more open-minded towards magic due to their cosmopolitan views. It may also be possible that they chose to settle in Demacia to protect themselves from whatever was chasing them.

Anyway who could it have been?

  • LeBlanc?

  • Any influential Noxian family? (don't sink my ship ree)

  • A thread from within Demacia?

  • A consequence of Vayne's father's adventures in his youth (or mother, you never know)?

  • Literally anyone else from their travels?

Then, of course, she could just enjoy twisting and tormenting young minds. If Evelynn spared Vayne, is she trying to create a twisted murderer much like herself? This theory gained a deal of plausibility through the following comment by Reav3:

Lastly, does this all mean we're getting the Vayne character development we want?

Evelynn didn't try to create a twisted murderer, she succeeded.

The Evelynn story is no longer canon. The current theory is that Evelynn is a demon, similar to Tahm Kench. Sharjo has hinted that if Tahm Kench is a demon of misery/despair (or like, emotional anguish), then Evelynn is a demon of physical pain and pleasure, or feeling in general. Here are my thoughts, copied from another post:

So Tahm Kench takes pleasure in bringing misery and despair to people, and as far as we know he does this by manipulating a person's desires and emotions.

Does that mean the Evelynn takes pleasure in… other people's physical pain and pleasure? One thing we know is that she essentially created the Vayne we have now, and she probably did it for a reason. Vayne has been shown to take pleasure in killing the monsters she kills, she enjoys making the more sentient monsters feel fear and pain in their final moments, and her line of work certainly brings a lot of physical pain into her life.

Soaked in the creature’s viscera, something awoke within Vayne: pleasure. The hot flush of vengeance and violence raced through her blood, and she relished in the sensation.

“Why not just walk in and kill me? Why this whole… presentation?” Vayne smiled. A sly, hateful grin. “Because I wanted to be sure I was right. Because I wanted you to feel the panic and the fear he felt. But mainly... Because it’s fun.”

The creature’s razor teeth ripped strips of skin from her knuckles and arm, but Vayne smiled – she had the beast right where she wanted it.

So yeah, Vayne feels and causes a lot of physical pain, but there's also the part of the emotional pleasure she feels? Isn't that Tahm's domain?

Probably, yeah. And Vayne's color story is a pretty clear indicator that Eve succeeded (assuming Eve doesn't specifically need mortal humans to be in pain)

We don't know enough about Vayne's parents or Eve's new form to really speculate on who could've ordered them killed, if anyone. Eve might've just been bored.

I don't know if that Reav3 quote is about lore. Pretty sure he's memeing about how much hate Vayne gets.
