But none of them are about this lore dilemma. Like really? Are you seriously doing this? You guys know exactly what we want to hear about. How's that tech issue going? When can we expect lore updates? Why can't there be consistent lore? Why can't you Rioters speak on things like this?

Hmm, the it was just me registering it as a answer. They like to loop around the questions a lot when they are answering our plights.
Also upvoted you because this is a concern that we have to face. There are no real pinned red threads besides the one about champion stories which is only a third of the lore answers we want answered (and it also kinda doesnt count since it its only taking advice from people instead of telling us what new stuff we should be expecting).
Man dont know why they have to be all secretive about this, just answer some timetables or sceduels, they dont have to be accurate (we know they wont be if something is delayed, but just give us some inside knowledge about this), just assure us in some way that doesnt involve and outside department Rioter coming in and being all awesome to us. We want to hear some honest, non spoilery answers from you guys, and yes they can be answered without spoilers. And make it a long answer, explaining all the process behind how you are making the new lore.

GenoXx2 votesExactly. I don't understand the secretive bs either. Why would you have to be secretive over stories? It's not liek it would spoil a champ release or something. Until proven other wise im still stuck on the the fact that no lore has been done. Champ release lore doesn't count. It's tied to a champ and is only a marketing strategy. Yes, it can give tidbits like the noxian empire, but nothing is consistent.
I didnt think a huge company like Riot would be this incompetent. Giving out a full stories a week over even one story a week revolving around the world of Runeterra should not be this hard. It's hilarious. Even though Dawngate is canceled, it will always beat thsi game in terms of lore

How's that tech issue going? The sole fact that we still didn't get the lore means the tech issue hasn't been resolved,so where is the point in asking this stuff again?Its a tech issue,its either going to be solved or not solved,there isn't much in between that can be said.
When can we expect lore updates? Once the tech issue has been resolved obviously.Aside from that there is no point in announcing lore stuff beforehand as there is always something that can go wrong(which is exactly what happened with the shurima update,they basically announced new lores for many champs and then couldn't deliver them,which means they are stuck now with nothing)
Why can't there be consistent lore? Thats one of the better questions,but well in the end they want to release the lore on the website and again the tech issue is in the way of that.Aside from that they started to tie lore more closer to events and generally put more thought into the lore(in the earlier days it wasn't made with much thought about the future,champs who had "mystery" as their background literally had no background as they themselves had no idea what these champs are)

Why would they ask who want to hear about? If they we're listening around last fall like they say they we're, they'd know. It was literally the discussions people would post about lore. Such as my Lunari thread. It makes no sense to say theres a tech issue, make stuff like the Rek'sai journal or bard's constellations, then turn around and ask us who we want to hear about. Not only that, they revealed to us that there's not Narrative team, but champ teams. And whoever is assigned the lore for that champ writes the story. I'm not asking for spoilers. I just don't like the fact that Riot likes to walk around questions that people ask here. I don't see how asking about the "tech Issue" is spoiling anything, if there is one.
Sometimes you have to read between the lines. They make stories for Azir and Xerath because it was an event. Kalista is sorta in the same boat. Seeing how her release was tied to the Harrowing, which was an event. But Rek and Bard, nope. Just the usual charade during a champion release.

This magnificent lore they have, the tech issue, wouldn't you say that the tech issue is the same content as Bard's constellations?

You can't without an external site or a lot of digging right? That's the point. Riot can make a webpage or a youtube video, but for the primary website it's not feasible in the way that Riot wants. The champion pages, if you go to them, are still broken.Bard doesn't even have a champion page on the site at the time of me typing this up. It seems clear that these tech issues go pretty sodding deep in to the actual coding of the website, to the point where things need rebuilt from ground zero.
Money can buy you people but it doesn't buy talent or experience. Not to mention there are different versions of the site for different countries and content has to be made available to ALL of them. That's the main reason why they don't put those stories here on the boards; who's gonna see them? The minority of people who visit the NA Boards and can speak English. Everyone else? The millions of other players who might be interested? You're shit out of luck.
Also no, they never said there's no narrative team, they said that the champ teams have people who work in the narrative discipline working closely with them. All of the teams work closely together to get stuff done, that's how we actually get promos at all. Before it was a comic and a judgement that came with a champ release. Now we get videos, journals, big promo sites, depending on the champion and how they want to deliver stuff. That stuff doesn't happen by the way of one team it's a bunch of teams working in concert. Web engineers, artists, writers, animators, lots of people will be involved.
Nybx4life2 votesI guess it's going to be a community project then to bring everybody up to date with what's been going on in terms of red posts. It is true that very few red posts are regarding the lore issue. Also true that a company of that size shouldn't have any "tech issues" that span months with no sort of update towards its community.
But there are some bits that not just you, but others have been slipping on which may help. Might have to go into Detective Mode again soon enough.
