I have russian roots and by listing to it I actually had to think about the russian language, so they clearly took the language of north regions for inspiration.

May I ask how the songstress did it? Did she learn the basics of the language to sing the song, or did she just learn it by heart phonetically?
EDIT: goes without saying, but the song/music/performance are all great, not just the efforts put into the language. :D
Krabohod1 votesI think it's like the way they do it in GoT with dothraki: Actors and actresses are given the script and they just learn them, and if something they are intersetd in they call the writer of language. But it would be cool to know

The vocalist likely did it by being of the same origin as most of the words. ;) Norwegian-Swedish.

I am a very interested linguist with a personal little project, and hope you can help. I haven't been very lucky in finding information about the linguistic aspects of Runeterra whatsoever.

Which basically is Old norwegian with other influences from older Scandinavian languages, like Swedish or the language of the "Sames". The vocalist is singing the poem and if you're from a western Scandinavian country, you could probably make out some words [slayer-pantheon-rainbows]
