To those jumping the gnu about Galio's personality

You can't determine the personality of a champ from just three lines of dialogue.

"Kyahahahahahaha!" "You'll never ESCAPE!" "I will tear them apart."

Three lines from make you think he's just a psychotic killing machine but these are just a few of his combat lines.

"WHERE IS IT?!" "Feed!" "Fresh souls!"

These three lines are from , you'd think he was just a ravenous monster that you can easily see coming but he actually needs to make a deal with you to be a danger to you and you need to watch out for his ability to con you into making a deal.

The point is that just a few lines of dialogue are not enough to figure out what a champion is like.

When those are the lines you hear in the ANNOUNCEMENT TRAILER, chances are those lines represent his actual personality.

I feel like they chose those lines to add emphasis to the presentation of "Tada here's Galio!" Riot Reav3 commented that he wasn't supposed to come off as cocky, but more of joyful in the fact that he's there to help.

Idk, the old Galio was definitely sad bc he failed to keep his master alive and tired from just being around sooo long, whereas this one has none of that :/ "Stripped of his reason for being, Galio despaired. For years he remained in solitude, standing vigil over the bones of the master he had failed to protect... a literal monument to his own everlasting shame."

The new guy reminds me more of my original impression of Zac before they changed his lore too...

Yeah the new Galio feels like what some school kid would think of as a generic "I'm here to save you!" Super Hero.

Though he also has some deeper lines about confusion of what he's supposed to be. He seems like he just wants to have fun with his purpose but people throw these complexities into it.

I mean, most people play with voices off, so they aren't likely to notice that as much as some. Plus, he full on has silly super hero names for abilities like "Justice Punch" and "Hero's Entrance". Makes him seem like a cheese lord.

what's wrong with a happier galio? after all galio doesnt really have emotions anyway. he's a construct without a purpose. just because it makes you sad that doesnt mean it even affects him. think of androids.

I agree with you, but i still think Galio is going to be exaggeratingly, super heroic with that air of "I'm here to save the day, citizen. This is my home and I have vowed to protect it! Even if it means my life!"

Actually you can, since those are the lines clearly presented in the short span of time Riot had to introduce him to people. CLEARLY that is what Riot wants you to feel of him and think of him. That is the point of introducing character in that fashion, so you get the first glimpse into their personality, and that is why Riot chose the lines they did.

Saying, well what I copied from your opening line in your post is actually just false, because that is 100% what you should be doing, as that is kind of the point.

Around 6:12 he starts getting into much more somber and thoughtful dialogue. He's in fact, NOT just those three lines in his preview, the post that is false is yours.

After listening to all of his lines, it's clear to me that his character is that of someone that's been told what he is and what he's meant to do and he embraced it with passion and cheerfulness but at the same time he's started to realize the downsides of who and what he is but it has taken time since he's not awake all that often. After doing his job for as long as he has and with his only reward being to go back to sleep, it seems that he's actually sad about not being more than what he was designed for, but he still believes that what he was designed for is good.

I feel as if when he keeps talking about being vs another construct....this was more supposed to be an entirely different champ and they decided hey how about instead of actually reworking Galio we just use that other champ we were getting ready to release.

Seriously this Collosus fits more as a creation of Damacia that inspired Durand to become an artificer than his greatest creation and body guard.... honestly this new lore sucks compared to the old one.

Sorry but anybody who thinks you can top the concept of watching your creator / master die in front of you because of not being strong enough only to remain a statue essentially his grave stone in memorial and then after years and years find a new purpose guarding Poppy as she seeks the legendary warier of Damancia ... is straight cray cray.

This new lore is just some huge rock that only comes to life once and a while to fight magic too powerful for lux to fight off alone.

pretty lame.

even if they keep the lore of Poppy being his friend and Durand being his creator ... face it the damn thing is way to big to be wandering around as a body guard and let's be honest here Galio was better because he could come to life when he wanted like Victor, Hugo, and Laverne frpm Hunchback or Goliath from Gargoyles cartoon(s).

You keep talking about his new lore a lot despite the fact that it isn't out yet. All we can compare between old and new right now are their voice lines until we get his new backstory. And as far as in game lines are concerned the new Galio is far and above much better.
